I want to see how the hyper active media reacts and make issue out of it. they r more than enthu to report if anything happens in maharashtra.i hve never seen any hindi channel speaking against any southern state for not speaking the OFFICIAL indian language.half literates shud read the constitution of india which says hindi is the official language and not the national language as potrayed by the biased media.every state has right to protect its language and culture. But anything against hindi is termed as anti national ..but only in maharashtra.southern states leteraly hates hindi but biased media has no GUTS to report it
WHY MEDIA DADAGIRI IS ONLY ON MAHARASHTRA???

Hindi is 80% Urdu (the language of Paki Mughal rulers of North India), in devanagari script.

in other words.. the language of alien tyrannical rulers of North India, which is now spoken by the slaves in UP Bihar.

Maharashtrians are fools to have allowed Hindi (a regional language) to be so prevalent in their state.

Relearning is required in Maharashtra to understand that Hindi is NOT national language, and there is no need to accept it at the state level in Maharashtra.

Kannadigas.. see the plight of Marathis in MH & learn
by howudoudo on May 22, 2010 07:29 AM  | Hide replies

.... before it it is too late.

Whole heartedly support Kannada films. Otherwise your language will be wiped out. Remember with language being wiped out, culture and way of life also gets wiped out.

UP Bihari Hindiwallahs have huge population but zero growth. They are MASS-MIGRATING all over the country.. and whereever they migrate instead of assimilating and integrating with local culture they instead impose Hindi and their culture on locals. Next step, you will have Hindi politicians ruling you. If countered, they say that they are national and you are anti-national. This is happening in Maharashtra.

Beware and fight back now itself in Karnataka.

@desi,

... u mean to say it is narrow-minded to protect Kannada language within Karnataka borders, but it is OK for hindiwallahs to impose Hindi on non-Hindi states.

Good thought .. the Govt. of India must stop protecting and propogating Hindi then. Look at the imposition of Hindi in banks, railways, central govt. offices and other public sector offices. Incentives are given to learn Hindi and promotions denied for not passing Hindi exams. Is this not proctectionism?? KFCC is well within it's rights then to protect Kannada movies.

First of all, the matter is about the unfair act of the Distributors and NOT about Hindi Language or National Integrity.

Next, the rule of number of theatres playing Hindi cinemas etc.. is a rule by the local film chamber to protect the interests of the local film Industry. It is about the business.

If the rule by chamber is not proper, talk to them and get a fair deal. That would be the better way than unnecessarily blaming the people and the state. It is entirely a matter of the business of the film Industry.

Kites producer is not doing any great service to the country with his film. He is just doing his business.

Remember, Hindi films are not completely Banned in Karnataka. They are still playing there. The only thing they need to understand is not to be unfair. Will you try to behave as you wish when you go to your neighbor's house? You will not.

Also, you can't force someone to accept a language just because it is spoken by large number of people in some parts of the country. It is individual's choice. We know that Hindi is an Indian Language, we understand, speak, like it and respect it. That's all. Do not expect it to be forced upon us. Respect is to be earned, it is not snatched from others. Finally, if you are still going ga ga about Hindi, go and watch Kites in Tamil Nadu's B centres, You'll find Hrithik and Barbara romancing Tamil.. En Kadale.. En Manaivi.. etc.. lol :D.

Hindi is the language of india
by cool dude on May 22, 2010 01:44 AM  | Hide replies

Who are these fools making noise about hindi not being a national language and mughal leftover. They obviously don't know what they are talking about.
Tell me any language which is spoken in more than one state in india, UP Bihar uttranchal jharkhand MP rajasthan himachal jammu, the population is half the india.
if you call yourself indian, u should know Hindian language is hindi, and it has been over the ages, hundreds of years before mughals arrived.
if it was not for hindi, whole india will be 30 different states ruled by either arabs or catholics, it is the only thing which is saving your life and dignity, so better be grateful.

BS..... Hindi is not the language of India. Just because it is spoken in many places in India doesnt make it the national language. India is a country of diverse languages. Each language has its own charm.

IMO, this is the right thing done by Karnataka people. They have to protect their language films when it is played in their own state. They have that right. They are not jealous of Kites, they want to ensure that local films have equal priority of theatres.

Smart Publicity Stunt
by sanjay kankaria on May 21, 2010 10:36 PM  | Hide replies

Guys, this is just another publicity stunt created by the crew of Kites. Just like the Mori and Roshan Love story and the break up etc... We just blindly fall for these publicity stunts.... There is nothing called North South East West. we are one is what we need to understand. If we are fighting inside our house then why are we making a hue and cry when someone beats us outside. we need to show that we are united inside. Then see if anyone has the courage to lift hands at us.

It is good to see all South Indians - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalis and Kannadigas united in this thread. We all need to unite and fight against the imposition of Hindi and destruction of our cultures and languages. Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi have weak film industries due to embracing Hindi movies.
