Famous response by Anna on Hindi's qualifications for National l
by dravidfan on May 21, 2010 04:14 PM  | Hide replies

If "numerical superiority of hindi speaking people" is one of the reason to qualify as National language then here is the famous response from Anna.

Famous response by Anna (CM of Tamilnadu during 1960's) on Hindi's qualifications for National language: "If we had to accept the principle of numerical superiority while selecting our national bird, the choice would have fallen not on the peacock but on the common crow."

Anna(ex-CM of TamilNadu) was instrumental in keeping Hindi far away from National language.

for ur anna's knowledge, always trying to preserve which is in danger, so peakok gets the vote, not the crow. samething holds good for tiger etc.. by declaring national animal, you cannot kill those

According to your theory, if crow is vast and its not meant to be preserved then the same formula goes to hindi. Hindi is also vast when compared to the percentage of regional language. So, regional language gets the vote, not hindi.

You know what, in one way Anna also thought the same. If Hindi is imposed all over India then the precious regional language, its literature and its people would eventually be suppressed by majority hindi speaking people. Same formula that you have mentioned "always try to preserve which is in danger".
Had hindi been our national language, regionallanguage/people/literature would have been in danger.

Its Official language of India, right. So, officialy also it is mandated. So, for India official language is Hindi, not Tamil or Kannada. So, u should respect India constitution which made it official language for India.

The Constitution of India came into existence on January 26, 1950. It said that Hindi and English would be the "official languages" of the Central government of India till 1965 (for a period of 15 years); subsequently, Hindi was expected to become the sole "national and official language" of India. This applied to Central as well as State governments. But all Tamilians from Sri Lanka like you started opposing it when 1965 arrived, and didn't allow the constitution made in 1950 to be followed for their ploitical mileage. So, I know u r Sri Lankan still leaving in India and abusing Hindi language and will not allow it to become National language, and it will remain Official Language, bcoz of u Sri Lankans.

If one try to safe guard his home is not crime or illogical. Nobody's saying not to release kites in Karnataka but asking those distributors to do it in the specified prints. People in the forum unnecessarily spilling venom and not analyzing the truth behind the ban.

Son, if I'm able to survive without speaking in hindi, why should I learn it. You are defending hindi and feeling good about it because it is your mother tongue. So naturally u have affection towards it. Likewise we also love and adore or language. No one in South except dirty politicians hate hindi. When it is necessary we'll learn not only ur language but any language.

Hindi movies has huge market and for Kannada movies we have only karnataka. So KFCC has every right to impose the ban.
