No movie watchers

Now a days there are no people in the theatres especially with the pirated print coming out very soon. Guzaarish may not have done well at the BO but it is sure to walk away with most of the awards. This year saw some of the worst movies like Dabaang, MNIK- horrible acting by SRK, action replay.

worst movies list 2010
by SRK on Dec 11, 2010 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

10. teen patti- some lady named leena yadav made fool of both AB and ben kingsley
9. guzaarish-SLB thought he was making an opera and not a movie
8. dabangg-looks more like a nautanki than a movie
7. ishqya- only abuses/sex/violence-where was the movie
6. lamhaa-looked like a news clip from some news channel on kashmir
5. anjaana anjaani-another stupid 'romantic story'
4. udaan-i was sleeping throughout the movie
3. LSD-no L, no S, only dhokha
2. kites-a hindi-spanish-english disaster
and the worst movie of the year is.....
1.ROBOT-an 80-year old robot doing all sorts of wierd things (anyway, it was unintentionally comical,so at least it was entertaining)

The best movie of all is The Parliament.

It is basically a movie kind of reality show where bunch of idiots gather in a chamber and throw chairs, land fists while hurl abuses.

This can be viewed free of cost on national channels and is quite entertaining.

I vote for The Parliament as one of the best entertainers of this year.

simple - Movies are crap and they cost too much to make and watch
by Shri Hegde on Dec 11, 2010 10:45 AM

too many trying to use their black money to convert in to white. People making movie to money and not for the love of art. Actors charges 20Cr as if the movie is all about them. Multiplexs charges 1000s for a ticket and popcorn in a country where the avg monthly earning is not more 10k.

family missing
by krishna v on Dec 11, 2010 09:08 AM  | Hide replies

i guess filmmakers are forgetting the fact that india still has not completely gone the u.s. way..family audiences still exist. and if you see recent history any movie that has good content where the entire family can watch together, it is deemed to be a hit. take 3 idiots or tzp or even golmaal series, ouatim. They have been blockbusters. sadly making movies on sleaze, sex and whole idea of shocking the audience..isnt working. a hero like aamir works simple becuase audience knows for sure he wont cheat family audiences with his movies content.anyway the overbudgeting and high ticket prices also hurts movies.clean content - difference between hits and flops.

havent seen glomaal 3 but i guess most people might have expected it to be like the previous rohit shetty movies and hence went for it. if rohit shetty , ajay keeps giving poor stuff.trust me family audiences will abandon their movies too.infact sm one on this forum itself mentioned his family had insisted him to take the entire family for golmaal 3 hence he went for it.if content is good, families will com out..else who will pay 1500-2000 for movies which dont even entertain the entire family..hence u see poor audeinces

WHY IS IT SO SURPRISING???
by Bela Malini on Dec 11, 2010 08:23 AM  | Hide replies

What is so surprising about these films failing?
It's very very simple, all these films were pretty bad both in the script area and/or choice of actors.

Action Replayy - Tries foolishly to ape 'Back to the Future' with no speck of Sci-Fi in the story or creating any period effects.
To top that they have taken middle-aged non-actors like Aishwarya (who has never done anything in films till date except look good)
and Akshaye Kumar.

Guzaarish - SLB is a self-indulgent director who has never created any film which can be seen more than once, even for people who would
like to watch his depressing movies. He just wastes money and brings in big stars to act in his pompous dramas be it Devdas, Black, Swariya or
Guzaarish. Yes the actors act well in his movies but his films are so pointless.

Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se - Well in this case the script was good, but it needed an actor of far more acting calibre than Abhishek. He just
doesn't have the intensity to play such a role. Probably Ajay Devgan or even Kay Kay would have been a great choice for this role.

As far as 'Golmaal-3' is concerned. Well this is just a fluke hit. Release the movie in Diwali time when everyone is interested in going out and having some fun, be it useless, brainless, slapstick comedy. It was a better and more so the ONLY option besides Action Replayy.
Would anybody go to have a second watch at a movie where children are beating and spanking their Father's behind??????

righly reviewed... SLB is just more interested in making his films look more beautiful.. if he concentrates more on the treatment he could click with audience

Paid reviews have also hurt
by rohit chauhan on Dec 11, 2010 07:28 AM

Earlier, people used to read movie review and decide about watching the movie. Now, since reviews are paid, customers have lost that inertia. Personally, I think that KHJJS was better than average but some reviews praised it in an overboard way. When you smell dishonesty, you want to hate the movie makers and end up not going to see it.

good, it reflects the entire status of the bollywood industry
by wizardo id on Dec 11, 2010 06:19 AM

half the time, everyone in bollywood is praising everyone else as if they gave achieved the pinnacle of movie making. there are a few gems here and there. the rest of them have come in with connections and dynastic inheritance of stardom. good movie makers are a rare in bollywood, most people are projected as if they are the greatest around, and we have been blessed to have been their contemporary!
