movies must entertain entire family
by krishna v on Dec 12, 2010 01:17 PM

unless the directors dont make movies with that concept..flops will continue..people like aamir khan, raju hirani understand this concept well.hence they make movies which are entertaining and entire family can enjoy..hence you have families coming out for their movies.even when aamir made an experimental film like peepli live..he made it clear upfront that this mvoie is not for all. unless and until other filmmakers realise that families will continue to abandon the fare.people are not going to spend 1500-2000 for the entire family for useless fare such as guzaarish, action replay.or movies that have actors like abhishek who have betrayed audiences in the past with their poor performances.

Why is it a question? Isn't it obvious why these movies failed..

It's very simple, all these films were pretty bad both in the script area and/or choice of actors.

Action Replayy - Tries foolishly to ape 'Back to the Future' with no speck of Sci-Fi in the story or creating any period effects.
To top that they have taken middle-aged non-actors like Aishwarya (who has never done anything in films till date except look good)
and Akshay Kumar.

Guzaarish - SLB is a self-indulgent director who has never created any film which can be seen more than once, even for people who would
like to watch his depressing movies. He just wastes boatloads of money and brings in big stars to act in his pompous, melodramatic dramas be it Devdas, Black, Sawariya or
Guzaarish. Yes the actors act well in his movies but his films are so pointless and futile. He should get into Calendar business.

Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se - In this case the script was good, but it needed an actor of far more acting calibre than Abhishek. He just
doesn't have the intensity to play such a role. Probably Ajay Devgan or K K Menon would have been a great choice for this role.

As far as 'Golmaal-3' is concerned. Well this is just a fluke hit. Release the movie in Diwali time when everyone is interested in going out and having some fun, be it useless, brainless, slapstick comedy. It was a better and more so the ONLY option besides Action Replayy.
Would anybody go to have a second watch at a movie where children are beating and spanking their Father's behind??????

SLB has become DevAnand of post 1980.Devsaab made movies for his own satisfaction, not for public. He brought many herions in the business whereas SLB is simply wasting his energy and money. After all those flops, who finances his ventures??
