3 out of 4 bachans lacks the cellulide magic! Four bachnas r breaking their butt to prove something. Amitbah should stop financing his son movies now. Enough is enough !

Well the grand patriarch of the family just swept all the awards of the best actor this year itself, delighting the whole of India with his acting prowess.
In spite of what you say, all the big banners are signing all 3 of them in big budget films....

Not so poor, they are one of the highest tax paying families in India, keeping aside the business houses.

Big B is using his connections well and is getting new movies for his expressionless son who unlike father is not an actor and has 0% HERO quality... lets see how many more FLOPS Abhishek could add to his ever increasing flop list... and the countdown continues next in line is GAME ..another flop from Abhishek..poor audience and producers
Of the overall budget, the fees charged by the leading pair itself would be 15-20%. And adding to that is the fact that not many of the now a day Hindi movies cast fewer actors. They always have loads of them. So the fees paid to the actors alone could escalate the overall budget. Even if the critical people like the lead pair, Director, Music Director agree to take a %age of the profit and only take a nominal fee to begin with, most of the films could make money, i mean profit. Unfortunately, the Hindi film superstars do not work the way (in finances), the south superstars do. That explains why even an average film doesn't do well in North and West. Also, most of south films would appeal to the village mass, as the stories some way or the other have linkages with villages, their culture etc. Whereas, most of the Hindi films are made for Urban population, which is not very film crazy.

It should have been "How these big banners..." which literally means the films that has the top stars acting in it. Rediff has now become poor in English as well.
One look at these three photos and would you like to pay and see these depressing looking movies?
India has a lot of energy. Who has time or money to waste on Russian or French looking movies?
Hritik with a beard is a big mistake both Kites and Guzaarish failed. Akhay arguably is the best looking hero today. But Vipul has made a cartoon of him. And KHJJS looks like a Naxalite movie
Re: why Dabang became a hit??

Golmaal 3 had no cutwas. It was still a hit.Its true that cutwas have all the time in the world to watch movies. But the main things killing Indian Film industry are bad content, high ticket prices, high budget and Piracy.
I agree wid Taran Adarsh that today movies are failing becoz of their big budget, like Dabangg it didnt have much story in it but as the movie was low budget so it picked up fast
