Whats up Rahman Bhai?
by ChennaiVaasi on Apr 27, 2010 02:00 AM  | Hide replies

After a superb album VTV (from tamil), this album fell flat. I have been a great fan of ARR since the BRU coffee jingles...I think he is loosing his touch. As someone suggested in one of the thread, its time for Mani to search for a fresh talent.

Nevertheless, when it comes to music trendsetting, to me its always Ilaiyaraja and ARR.. The two gems of Tamil Music Industry

Its time Mani re-think about re-introducing Ilayaraaja in his movies to bring back those good old days, and have some memorable melodies for the audience.

agreed in now times, no one there in class of ARR.but saying only two trend setters is striclty exaggragated and i can smell linguishism from above one.if u remember Himesh Reshmiya have rocked country and even US with his nosal and loud music, but later distracted from music for acting.if we go to old era there are numerous musician even ARR's melody is lacking th8 sweetness. No comparison of Shankar-jaikishan's melody with anyone, also don't forget Hindi music industry now days spoiled because of bad singers and more use of english lyrics.

@Nostradamus Great, seems like Kris is trying to make a point here. Without reading the whole stuff how can he blindly make his judgement ?? By the way, I agree completely to Kris.

ARR is racist also...he never give good score for other languages..than Tamil and Hindhi...

For telugu direct movies, he collects crores of ruppes and gives 3rd grade music...

For this to happen the music director should understand the culture and audience of a particular region.. ARR got a false belief that his music is universally acceptable. Other fact is that his 'so-called' magic is gone.

If his words are anything to go by ARR says, "The director has to extract things out of me". Language is no barrier here.

@Bhoot, ARR has got another reason for his worthless music :).. If ARR can't understand and equate to what the director is expecting, its ARR's mistake..

Indian, Indian, my dear Indian, U even don't know how a music is composed. Music Director never tells wat he is going 2 compose. D Director gives his abt d situation n then d story of composition starts. Anyways there is no point in xplaining 2 a junk like U :).

@Indian Public, happy to know that you have got abundant knowledge about the composision and creation of music. Hope we all have pretty nice time learning from you in near future.

My point is, ARR is finding fault with the narrative style of the film director. ARR wants to internally say, if the song is good, its because he understand the situation .. and if the song is bad, its because the director is not up to the point.

Music of Raavan is classy
by arnab bhattacharya on Apr 26, 2010 11:30 PM  | Hide replies

The music of raavan is classy and i would say difficult for normal people like us to appreciate the music at the first hearing. From those friends of mine who are studying music, i heard that Rehman has used Ragas in a very unique way to give it a fusion touch. And obviously Gulzar's masterpiece lyrics adds to the depth (well atleast i could understand the depthness of Gulzar lyrics, a masterpiece again after superb Ishqiya,kaminey).. So all Atif & Pritam's kind of music lover this album is not for you all...It is for those who believes music is God.

@arnab, what an amazing way of explaining ARR's worthless work !! at least I am happy to know that ARR's music is for abnormal people. But I don't think your praises can save this album from sales crash. The last line in your 'research' could be a hot topic for debate :)

Play of words

The ostentatious jugglery of words riddled with linguistic claptrap in the evidently intended-to-impress mumbo jumbo of a review above leaves me with a sober, though unoriginal, thought – IT’S EASY TO BE DIFFICULT, BUT DIFFICULT TO BE SIMPLE.

To be SIMPLE is IMPOSSIBLE without clarity of mind freshness in thinking. And usually our mind process and accepts things which are SIMPLE.
