The RANN trailer issue is another unfortunate example of how the experienced media highlights inconsequent issues on par with all the sensitive & important issues. Does this really require "breaking news" tag. Doesnt the media itself give undue publicity to the movie? Or even if we think that the movie maker intends to rake in cheap publicity, why should media make it headline news???? Having seen the trailer of the movie & having seen such respectable & patriotic Indians like Amitabh Bachchan involved in it, should we still doubt that RGV needs cheap publicity? I don't think these premature editors in the media deserve to even comment on such enormously experienced film makers & their intention in using the National anthem. Its glaringly obvious in the trailor that RGV has showcased the current issues of India in the perspective of the well being of our nation. Shouldnt this be appreciated?
First & foremost that is essential in this regard is for the media to stop embracing Bollywood personalities & their lifestyle to the extent that it is doing now. Let them give attention to the country's real artists(be it classical musicians, singers, painters, theatre artists ) who are struggling to get recognition which they truly deserve. Let them showcase the rich talents of India on a regular basis than making money by showering money on Bollywood personalities. Can media make this a reality??????

i want kareena, kangana ranaut, katrina kaif salman khan aamir khan do mujhra on my birthday.
Cordially I ask rediff to pass on my message and invtire them.
why r we so much upset about what RGV did?i strongly believe that his way of expressing his feelings, which are apt to the present indian society.Did every one forget what shashi taroor did?Even he was right when he said to hold your hands close to your chest while singing our National Anthem. If keep our hands close to our chest we will get a better feel of what we sing.after all who are we to question all these.how many of us have done anything good for the country.
i just want 2 ask one question ?? does national anthem fill any empty stomach .. does nationa anthem solve unemployment .. does national anthem solve rising food prices ..
Dear Readers, Do we implement / understatnd the real meaning of the Anthem? when i said we it means all of us civilians, politicians, army personel, business mens etc... If we understand that then i guess no body can challenge RGV's decision of presenting the real COndition of India today. Issues we have: 1. Corruption 2. regionalistatin 3. Poverty 4. Terrorism 5. Linguistic racism 5. Castism 6. Mis-understood democracy. If you understand this and map to the current dilapitated state of India then you wont dare to write much against RGV or for that matter any other optimisitc Indian
Now that it has been revealed how some people care not about the national anthem, Rediff or any other media must take a poll of which states and which kind of schools do not include the national anthem in their daily activities of nation building, besides building brains and brawn.
The National Anthem is not tampered, nobody will sing it in school. Its just used in a way to reflect today's society esp. to reflect irresponsible media outlets like rediff. Where did your patriotism go when karan johar tampered with vande maataram in SRK movie and had bikini white girls behind ?

Actually the new liberty taken with the national anthem will be taken further by lots of youth and converted into their own personal agendas. It can easily degenerate into another 'kaliyon ka chaman' kind of song.
Just claiming 'no one will sing it' will not shut the mouths of rowdy singers.

Wow! Jana Gana Mana is not sung in school? That is news to me. In fact defence and public sector hold national anthems. Obviously I can see why the national anthem means nothing to you. We sang it everyday at the end of school day, and sang it once a week with the principal of the school . We went to the poorly Gokhale schools. I can understand now why elites like you have no respect for the song.

Yes, there are many schools which don't sing National Anthem. We had only one prayer in our School. That is 'Asothama Sargamaya..'

You know, some of the schools celebrated independence day on Aug 14th evening so that they need not come on Aug 15th to school.. surprisingly maximum parents had no issue.. I was the one of few raised the issue.. thats the education we are giving to our kids..

creep tharo baap i am your pamela sharma come and lick my ding dong and ai will make you sing song.
idea of tampering with National Anthem is blasphemous but what they have shown in trailer really strikes a chord. Personally, this resonates more than Jai Ho. Leaglly is there any provision on safe guarding National Anthem ... just like guidelines for flag??? That should be factored in by Censor.

Tarun, I don't want to alarm you, but do the newsgroup 'newindia' sound familiar to you?
RGV was dawdling in his studio. Saying aloud 'Done this, done that,Hmmmmm.....how about a different genre of music...That Gulaal got rave critical reviews....Rehman is too big for me now. Hmmmm.....how about some modern ultra-desi music kind of like what the Chennai or Kolkata boys in their lungi , dhoti and kurtas rock in ....Rehman did a Jai Ho, .I can redo the Jana Gana Mana ...may get an Oscar.
RGV has done nothing for anyone, least of all for the country, except to have revamped some careers like those of Antara and Urmila. And here we have people actually supporting him in redoing the national anthem. Wow! Who is RGV? A poet? A radical? A thinker? Or isn't he just an self-imposed eccentric black-and-white-weird-camera angle movie maker?

Yes you are right. These are bustads and I will remove them from mumbai kik like pig.
There are many other ways in which a normal song can show apathy etc. u do not need to tamper with our National Anthem for the same. Artistic freedom or not, this is the least bit you can do for the nation! RGV stop this nonsense.

Wonder why not! After all Rediff would be hopelessly mad to support someone who remade Sholay.

Tampering with The National Anthem is as good as Tampering with national secrets. RGV shud be tried in a court and fined/jailed for his irresponsible act.
