gulaal is a movie which has a brought up the feeling of nationalism n democracy even more closer to our shores. it is a must watch movie especially by youth. so far as the acting is concerned k k menon has done a tremendous job.moreover raj singh chaudhary(dilip singh), anew comor has strengthen his legs in bollywood.but the credit for the success of the movie largely goes to the director of the movie,mr anurag kashyap, who has superbly directed the movie.2 great movies in two months, wat a meritorious person he is. he has a bright future in the eyes of critics...according to me both the movie i.e. DEV D and GULAAL,should be nominated for the best movie of the year 2009.

Acting of Kay Kay Menon and Other actors were good. but Gulaal is kind of movie which cannot be watched by decent public. It has got lot of abuses, especially language is very slang. some scene are also bold. About the story I dont think this type of incidence happens in real life. It is slightly exaggerated. However songs are quite goods. Story is also not upto to the mark and climax is let down of the movie.
all in all agood movie maybe persons who talk about revolutions Alex Touquiville Karl popper can make something out for other poppodums it must have gone right over there insight in many ways are alteregos over each other eaxh have strange purity of purpose one for love other for a woman the older guy makes his compromisese YEH jaise be bacha lo duniya apna samaj kar apna loy duniya
All in all its a great watch. Awesome songs, excellent character portrayals.
What beats me is this affinity of this movie with Rajput "bravery". There hasn't ever been a single Rajput revolutionary in the freedom struggle and the Kingdoms were all British satellites. The movie could've done better by balancing some of that.
Nevertheless, Kay Kay Menon is superb in this movie and Anurag has done an amazing job in using him. Kudos to him! I couldn't understand the utility of the blue guy with the drum though.

Go through History books.. Ram Prasad Bismil, Kuwar Singh were Rajputs.. It is a different thing that most of the Rajput states were close allies of the British Raj. 422 of some six hundred princely states that acceded to the Indian Union at the time of independence were rajput states.. The movie is not on 'nationalism'.. It is on regionalism which is rampant today in its worst form...The use of Rajput sense of betrayal is symbolical...

Kiran was ecstatic to see the power before her very eyes (the brother on the podium) she can now grab any time. The ending, in general, also proves Ak's argument that the Rajputs, given enough time to stew will, eventually, show their true colors. Infighting, squabbling and bickering..besides, of course, the famed bravado.

Because finally everybody recognized them (herself and his brother) as Rajputs (children of Raja).
