Why are you all complaining about the oscars. Aren't you happy that the movie showed the slums of india and now people will be willing to help those slum people. Already in Sri lanka, we can see the attitude change in my people. Before, we Sinhalease hated india, now we are talking about the poor people in india and how we can help. We feel bad that people live in such sub condition. Western people will be now pouring money into india's slums, something your government cannot afford.

thx for your concern man....but seriously do really think most of the ppl in India live that way. We are not a 1 trillion dollar economy with a 8% growth rate just like that. Wait for 10 yrs and you will see the difference.

Try your false propaganda somewhere else. Charity begins at home. First try to help all the poor Sinhalese and stop commiting genocide . Then come and lecture to others.

oh sure ....as if they didn't know about its existence before. Although I am sure it will help the missionaries to extract money out of people to help these poors....of course we know where that money goes.....

What point are you trying to make here with your comments? If you want to talk about quota doctors being criminals and not getting wifes to marry, you are being funny and may be ignorant. Can you not see him being married to a good girl from his community? As far as criminals are concerned, they are everywhere. Recently we have seen in the news, how a Reddy brother has tried to give his sister to his friend to pay off the loan he took from him and when she resisted, how he killed her. Look at Satyam, look at all these bank owners, look at those Sharmas, who killed his wife and burned them in Tandoor, Sharma thiefs who stole all jewelry in Hyderabad. We can go on and on. You need to have some decency when you are posting and especially in articles like this. Rahaman probably is not from any of those three self declared agra varnas. Still he has achived a lot and got an Osacar. People just need a chance and then we will know. Funny thing is, from thousands of years, you guys had quotas (Actually no quotas, you took them all, isn't it) on the name of religion (Soem people enjoyed all the money on the name of god, some enjoyed all the land and some all the business)on top of it, you have screwed the country anyway and now you cry for just 50 years quota? Funny....

I think it would have been nice of Rahman if he had paid tribute to his colleague in 11/26 terror attacks
Every Paki and Chinki is watching this movie and saying 'look this is real India and not the one they try to show the world as superpower or shoping malls etc.' This film is an attempt to degrade India in the eyes of world. We all are ashamed of people who are calling it an Indian film.

Bollywood is the worst form of film producing industry in the world.The reason is stupid fellow country men love and support bollywood movies. Indians, like in any other field, in movie making cannot come close to the rest of the world in standards. Plese show the reality in your movies and not the fake things. In every bollywood movie, the boy and girl fall in love, dance around the park, beach, snow peaked mountains and yet in real life nobody could do that because the Ram-sena, Shiv-sena and the police will kick their butt. Next time you guys make movies, please include the scenes of butt kicking by those senas of the dancers and lovers. That will be real cinema. Thanks to Slum dog, we know what real India is.
