Happened once so many times for ages
by Prakash Srivatsan on Sep 21, 2008 07:12 AM  | Hide replies

I really do not understand the attitude of the Hindi speakers especially from the Northern part of India. For their kind information, India has not just Hindi, but 26 other languages spoken at various regions. Among all the languages, Hindi is the newest in India and is not a native language of our country. Please learn the literary history of Hindi before you even exclaim it as our national language. Hindi is NOT the national language of India, it is only the largest spoken language. So, please learn to respect and appreciate other languages that are 1000s of years older than Hindi. It is strange to see Hindi people not able to even recognise one of the South Indian languages and North East Indian languages. Shame isn't it? Pseudo-Ellitism

I dont think that hindi speakers disregard other languages. if you c the remarks from jaya bachan, she has not said anything wrong for marathi. the problem is that many ppl does not respect hindi. Hindi is our national language "not" because it is superior or oldest language but because it is spoken by 40% of our population and is understood by 70% of our population. with my due respect to all the languages of our motherland india, i want to request all of fellow citizens not to indulge in any fight for anyone speaking in either hindi or orriya or bengali or marathi or tamil or any other language. let ppl speak in the language they want.

Prejudices paalna band kar ke sangathit kab honge ham? Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat Maratha, Dravid, Utkal Banga..sab to hai hamaare paas. Main Hindi jaanti hoon aur Tamil seekh rahi hoon. Language fundamentalism bahut gandi cheez hai. Upar utho bachhe logo. Pyaar se raho.

Would any of you please go and tell Mr. Raj Thackarey that Hindi is the national language of India and if anyone disrespects hindi, he is liable to be sentenced to death.

Mr. Raj Thakarey, India is a secular country and people of India can stay anywhere they want to.

Maharashtra kya aapke pitaaji ka basaaya hua hai?

Boss...should I laugh at you? I pity your ignorance. If you are not good at history and literature, please stay away from these subjects. Hindi is NOT India's national language. India doesn't have any national language. It is ONLY the largest spoken language and most newest language to have come into India from beyong the khyber pass 600 yrs ago. All other languages are older than Hindi. Please LEARN about India first. haahaa..you are a jerk.

Prakash ji, Aap bahut senti ho rahe ho, but..English is the national language bole to aap senti nahi hoge, Hindi se itni mirchi kyon khae ho Prakash ji? Aur Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi to waise bhi basically Hindi se kaafi milti hain. Lets try to be friendly to each other. Aur haan, Hindi agar rashtra bhasha ban jae, Angrezi ke baad, to kya bura hai. Ham foreign mein rahte hain, aur gore log...hamein jab aur logon se English mein baat karte dekhte hain to kahte hain...yes.. we know there are 1000s of dialects in India,English unites you all Indians..bahut sharam lagti hai. Tab ham man hi man mein ichha kar baithte hain, ki koi to ek bhasha ho..jaise ki Hindi..jo sabhi Indian log bol paate..to itni sharam na uthani padti..School mein 3 languages to bachhe pad hi sakte hain..Europe mein to research ke anusaar, schools mein 6 maximum languages allowed hain..So in Germany, many people study, German(Mother Tongue), English(Father tongue of the world), Italian/French/spanish(Choice) and one Classical Language(Greek/Roman)..

Then kya ham log for example W.Bengal mein Bengali, Hindi, English and Sanskrit nahi pad sakte.Kya bura hai, multilingualism really makes our nervous interconnection in the brain strong.

To mat kar ghrina faaltu ki baaton se, pyaar kar. Waise bhi Bollywood hi hai Hollywood ke baad. Hindi to Hindustanion ko aani chahiye bhai, not because superior, because, ham sab brown logon ko aapas mein dil ki baat kahne mein zabaan se to maar na khani padeNamaste.

Mr. Big B knows the power & strentgh of Marathies. All to know that if you all want to stay in Maharashtra, pl do not play with the sentimates of Marathies. And if feel pride in UP/Bihar, go back to your states, Marathies have not invited you to come here. Improve your states if you really feel pride for your states and burry the corrupt leaders of your states which are plenty in Numbers who just play politics and nothing else.

We should try to speak as many language
by humari awaz on Sep 11, 2008 01:19 AM  | Hide replies

I am born in mumbai. I am Marathi, but I speak more gujarathi. Because most of my friends are gujarati. My most of neighbor are gujarati.
I speak hindi, gujarati, marathi, english, punjabi and some tamil.
(I do know many programming language because I am programmer.)

So my point is there nothing wrong learning many languages, but even though I am marathi I respect other languages.
But that stupid Jaya. I will encourage her to speak other languages as well, it is good for her because sh is in film industry. This will help her.
I think Jaya wanted some cheap publicity, but cheap publicity is not that cheap. Mr. Raj will teach her good lesson.

Raj , I think you should also think about other issues like farmer, poverty etc..

We are not against she speaking in hindi or english anywhere - We are against the remark she made - She said " Maharashtra ke log hum mein mafa karde " and now Amitabh also know that if his family movies are ban in Maharashtra he has to face too much loss - so abhi fatgayi hai isliye mafi mang rahe hai. I was so many years abmitabh fan myself but now his family is doing all cheap things - He dont pay Tax - holds Swiss Citizenship - His wife was thrown out of Rajya sabha - Ash had slept before with salman and now go to Siddhi vinayak temple walking for pooja - big jokes

Vishwas Joshi, aapki baaton par vishwaas nahi ho raha hai. Vishwaas ke liye bakwaas ki zaroorat nahi hoti, unchi awaaz ki bhi nahi, only truth...helps to get vishwaas. so abhi aap time waste mat karo, kuchh achhi kitaabein pado..movies dekho..I suggest..read..Gandhi Autobiography, Religious books, books by Harivansh Rai Bachhan..watch movies like Anand, Abhimaan, Bawarchi...Kucchh man halka ho, aur dimag mein kuchh baithe, then we can both sit and laugh at your comments.

I am not a jaya fan but this is so absurd. I don't see any malice in that remark. There are so many people of various regions living in any big city and they speak their own language. calcutta, bombay, london, newyork. A person releasing a hindi movie should speak hindi. why do you need to apologize for that??? Has Raj thackeray ever asked anyone to apologize for speaking in english which is also not a native marathi language!!! hindi is much closer to marathi than english.
