This is riduluous, when the govt, stop tolerating such bums, infact we the people should stops supporting such orthodox idiots. RAJ THakare's son has take GERMAN in his school instead of Marathi, may I know why he is promoting a foreign language when MNS thinks Marathi is so important.
Why is SENA against SRK, if he is from Delhi and talks of delhi and Hindi. For god's sake Delhi is India and we are Indians first. If we are Indians first, our language first should be Hindi, then English as it is a universal language, then we should promotes Marathi, gujarati or etc. That will sow the seeds of an India charging into the 21st century.
Did our freedom fighter think about such linguistic difference when they got freedom for India.

MNS/SENA are all power hungry people. They know they can't survive without marathi vote. Since Raj split from SENA the only option he had to popularise his NEW party was by playing the Marathi card and playing with the sentiments of maharashtrains

Why has Sena remained quite on the Marathi card? the answer is plain and simple, Sena is playing the bigger card of Hindutva. Hence it does not want to anger North indians. THey have made plenty of Vegetable vendors Sena, which are filled with Bhaiyas(Brothers) from UP and Bihar.

Don't be a puppet, learn what the actual aim of such gimmicks are

criticising SRK is not justified. i have seen many ppl in delhi saying 'i am an bengali by heart.' even one of my friend used to say `i am proud maratha` and we never criticised him for this. thats natural. ppl ramain touched with the place where they are born and brought up. though my frnd is working in delhi, he has maharashtra in his heart and i must appreciate that love. this doesnot means that he hates delhi.
similarily, in the case of jaya, everyone in that function was speaking in english. if she has said something in hindi (saying in a light mood that "since i am from UP", though she is not from UP), that should not provoke the sentiments of ppl of maharashtra unless untill she has said anything wrong against marathi.
we have to be tolerant to make our country more vibrant and colorfull.

INDIAN MENTALITY
by jack on Sep 09, 2008 05:36 PM  | Hide replies

We do not need an enemy from outside to destroy us. Looking at this message board it looks like we have so much hatred in our minds that we can destroy india fighting amongst ourselves on silly issues. It is really sad to know that we are such racists.

I dont think that all people of this country should give preference to hindi first. but i am of the view that people should learn their mother tongue first that is the language of the land where they are living and all indians should have some fair understanding of hindi as it is our national language. that way hindi will be a bridge between people across country.
also ppl should have fair understanding of english which will help us to be in contact with the world.

i am from bihar and settled in mumbai. I have been to each and every part of Maharashtra and i find marathi ppl very nice. Even though i am not in agreement of thackreys aggressive approch. I will say its our duty to be grateful to marathi culture and language. Even though hindi is my mother in the sence it has given birth to me, but i also consider marathi as my mother, coz its she who has provided food to my mouth and i consider this mother greater then the one who gave birth to me.
Jai Maharashtra.

good discussion here. Also the bshers need to understand that RT is not asking anybody to become a professor in marathi or do a phd in marathi.......he is just asking that if you r staying in mumbai for so many years.....u should be able to communicate.....we expect only basic things.......
also the new biharis and Up'ites who come here and support SP and other UP leaderrs work like agents of SP.....its like SP send them here gets voting rights here and then fights elections......wow whatta strategy....RT is only opposing this......he is right in all sense....

Why be sarcastic purposely & then apologise? I dont think Jaya Bhaduri-Bachchan said it on spur of moment when there was no need for it. It has happened couple of times earlier too. I dont believe anyone from SP or RJD would behave in this sort of manner in CHENNAI or TAMILNADU!!

everyone in that function was speaking in english, and she spoke in hindi. it has nothing to do with marathi. it doesnot means that she doesnot respect marathi.

i am also of the view that there was no need of saying this statement but i think her statements should not be taken so seriously. she herself is not from UP, she is from bengal. But she said this in light mood considering recent bad remarks about UP wallahs and biharis. she didnt said anything against marathi or maharashtra.

i hope this marathi extrimism does not result in something like punjab or kashmir.
long live maharashtra, long live marathi!!!

I agree with you.I want to know why RT's son has opted for German language when his baba is playing the Marathi card..????.In that function she was the only one who spoke in Hindi,by the way she is a Bengali from MP and RT is also a Marathi from MP !!! Isn't it funny !
