Big B and Jaya are on such a position in india that rarely can be earned by someone. They are now close to be declared as National Assets.
That is why, it hurts to here from somebody like Jaya that hum to UPwale hai.
This comment came in as a deliberate taunt and thus needs to be protested against.
As a Marathi, I feel no regret in admitting that Mumbai is made by our Parsi and Gujarati brothers and powered by Marathi manpower. We Marathi adore the achievements they have in building industries in Mumbai as also for the fact that they are so mixed with Mumbai and maharashtra as they are treated no different from Maharashtrins.
The facts are different in case of people fom UP and Bihar.
Illigal residents from these regions are creating problems and they seems to totally disregards the Marathi culture.
However, Raj thakaray's actions are just publicity stunts.

I second Debdatta's comments. He is right. And you know, some days back I read something about Tolerance in Nehru's writings. He was so right in saying that to achieve tolerance in a multi-kind society, every single entity has to stop saying proud, selfish words about oneself to other entity. A positive pride is good, but when it is just told..to other people to show off, it takes negative shades. Gandhi is gone, Nehru is gone, Patel is gone, Bharati is gone. Many are gone, Bachhans are alive, and they are well cultured. We have to keep the national spirit alive. Lets not break the country. Lets live, love and let live. Lets be tolerant and full of respect and understanding and acceptance for each other. Its not difficult, believe me.
The reason for the triumph of the evil is the inactivity of the good. That's what is said about the rise of Nazism in Germany. I hope the inactivity of Maharashtra government in stopping this regionalistic sentiments does not get to dangerous proportions.

U have poor knowledge Nazism is not bad it was due to the opression of Germany by the alies & insult of the German culture & the people that gave rise to Nazism. Nazism gave the German their lost pride. Adolf Hitler should be respected for his vision & ability to regain the lost pride of Germany. The killing of innocent people & torture was a by product of a good theory of Nazism & it should be condemed. But waer has its own consequences. India needs an Adolf Hitler to bring this nation together, decipline the people, change the outdated constitution & IPC, crush terrorism & terror supporting countries.

Krishnakanth, I completely disagree with you. Bachhan family has a big chunk of contribution to various sides of Indian society and culture. Money, many other people have, its but natural, actor/star of that stature will have money. And then it is good, because artist doesnot have to die in poverty. I think money is in good hands. I donot know about Taxes so I donot agree with your statement, unless you have all accounts, which I suppose you dont have. I dont think filmstars loot money. Thats an absurd idea. You need a lot of experience, I think. So, better read books good ones, before just abusing your internet connection! Take this as a positive and healthy talk

Bachchan's haven't contributed much to Maharashtra. He is just a good actor and tried (& trying) to make as much money as possible with all available means. Had he really done some serious contributions, No one could dare speak a word againts him

Jaya Bachchan did not mean what she said. Inspite she apologized. Why we try to make political issue out of everything? Today Bachchans, tomorrow SRK, then Akshay. They will not stop this filthy politics. If Thakerey's have guts why can't they kick out all non marathi's from Maharashtra. Let's see. And let them make films with maharashtrians only.
If they have Marathi feeling, we have Indian feeling to ban everything that comes out of Maharashtra. Be it Lata Mangeshkar or Sachin Tendulkar or any product.
PS. Among all others Rediff proudly printed Raj Thakrey's picture during Ganesh Chaturthy. What does that mean?
