First all c.h.u.t.i.a thackray ku maharastra say bahar nikalo as they hail from U.P.
Excerpt from Sujata Anandan's well researched article:
Even the maverick Govinda Ahuja (who hails from Ms Bachchan’s own world) speaks Marathi well enough to give television interviews in that language and I was pretty impressed by Akshay Kumar, too, who occasionally spoke chaste Marathi to contestants on the Khatron Ke Khiladi show shot in South Africa. Who compelled him to either learn or speak Marathi? And he has lived either abroad or in Delhi most of his life!
I speak five languages to varying degrees of fluency myself.
But by trying to score brownie points off Raj Thackeray, Jaya Bachchan has played straight into his hands and helped both the Sena and the MNS vindicate their stand against uttar bharatiyas — that they stubbornly refuse to assimilate or integrate and destroy the culture of others. However, I believe Ms Bachchan is no uttar bharatiya; only pretending to be one. She is Bengali with roots in the winter capital of Maharashtra. And if she cannot be true to those origins, she certainly cannot be expected to have the interests of the people of her adopted State at heart.
But denial of gratitude for things past seems to be a habit with Ms Bachchan. Not very long ago, she was so critical about the Nehru-Gandhis that her illustrious husband was compelled to publicly upbraid her for that insult offered to Sonia Gandhi for no rhyme or reason.
if anyone here remember few lines of Indian constitution. Right to freedom [Article 19] specific Article 19 1 (a) right to freedom of speech, Article 19 1 (e) right to freedom of residence and settlement. People like Raj Tachery are making joke to the Constitution and all India is just listening News. There is no Law and order for a powerful people if this is done by a common folk he will be finished in minutes. This is real INDIA after 61 years of Independence that a person is regionalism and government is doing nothing, seeing everything as puppet.

I am proud of superstar (Thalaivar) Rajnikaant (Shivajirao Gaekwad) who is in fact a Maratha, but is more fluent in local languages such as Kannada and Tamil of Tamilnadu where he lives. I am also truly proud of Tamils who lovingly accepted Rajnikaant who was born in a Maratha family in Karnataka, India. Rajnikant also has married a south Indian female. I am proud of Rajni's level of regional integrity.
Here are some good examples of Non-Maharashtrians speaking fluent Marathi include Gujju Mohan Dharia (Social Leader, Mahad, MH), Gujju Praful Patel (Union Minister), Gujju Lalchand Hirachand (Premier Padmini company owner) and Rajasthani Dhoot brothers (Videocon), former PM Narasinharao (Telagu).

I have a question:
Can a single woman travel alone by herself at ease after 8 pm at night in Bihar or East UP? If yes, that's great..If not, what does it indicate, Gundaism and disrespect for single women? I have seen many women safely travelling by themselves in Mumbai and Pune at night even at 11 PM ...of course there will be very rare bad incident once in a year or so...Question is why do some Hindi speaking people refuse to integrate with regional culture even if they settle there for life?
Here are some good examples of sensitivity to local culture:
I have met a Tamil settled in Mumbai who speaks fluent Marathi. I also have met Keralite Christian settled in Mumbai who speaks fluent Marathi. I also know a Maharashtrian friend raised in Mumbai and settled in Chennai, who speaks fluent Tamil. I also know a Maharashtrian friend born in Maharashtra and settled in Hyderabad, who speaks fluent Telagu. I have met a second generation Gujju guy in Chennai whose Tamil is better than his Gujarati. I have met a Gujarati family from Mumbai who settled in South Africa and is now fluent in South African native language. The great Narasinha Rao (Former PM of India) spoke 7 Indian languages including Marathi and was elected from Maharashtra several times.
Let us not forget that the great Raj Kapoor attended Marathi School for 2 years in his childhood.
It is important to respect local culture and learn local language wherever we settle. Let's grow up and show some open mind to learn local languages. My dear Indians, it will help all of us and definately not hurt local feelings. I love India and truly respect it's diversity in sub cultures and languages.

Why dont you give this advise to Maharashtrians settle in Belagavi in Karnataka. They sing a very different tune there among mild mannered Kannada people. You guys say respect local culture/language in Bombay and Poona while not doing the same in other states.

Most Marathi people in Belgaav do understand and often speak basic Kannada. It was unfair that Marathi Belgaav on the border of Maharashtra was made part of Karnataka when states were created by language since 1947.
language is medium of expression of thoughts ,mother tounge is respected but her sister laguge is mother tounge other they also respcted ,.i just want to know that raj tahkre's children studying in which schoole ,marathi aue english ,if any body have knowledge
am born in mumbai. I am Marathi, but I speak more gujarathi. Because most of my friends are gujarati. My most of neighbor are gujarati. I speak hindi, gujarati, marathi, english, punjabi and some tamil. (I do know many programming language because I am programmer.)
So my point is there nothing wrong learning many languages, but even though I am marathi I respect other languages. But that stupid Jaya. I will encourage her to speak other languages as well, it is good for her because sh is in film industry. This will help her. I think Jaya wanted some cheap publicity, but cheap publicity is not that cheap. Mr. Raj will teach her good lesson.
Raj , I think you should also think about other issues like farmer, poverty etc..
