this is such a incredibly biased review!! everyone from tom dick to harry has panned this album and is considered rehmans weakest ever , come on..sponcered reviews is something , this is plaguerism in the name of public trust who read ur reviews and buy cds, no wonder piracy is rampant
A R Rehman is one of India`s finest composers...!!n as for his critics...wel..it isn`t dat de bad or mediocre get criticised...it is de best ones of evry field dat face criticism!!becuz in our country criticism is more regional, religion bound..!!i guess music has no such boundaries...n Rehman`s work in dis movie is truly worth appreciation!!

He is the greatest composer of india ever produced. But he is not a creator of new tunes.
He never listens to poem and sayeri and compose music. He composes music first and then asks lyricists to put words into it. This is said by him.
Therefore he can never ever touch the level of S. D. Burman, R. D. Burman, Sankar Jaykisan, Nadim Sravan etc.

There is no albams in hindi which can peer with Ashiqui, Saajan, Dil hai ki manta nahin ,Dilwale , sadaketc. And I'm sure you wouln't be able to list 100 songs of Nadeem Shravan which you are claiming copied. There are some songs where you can find some similarities with other songs. But think about the number of films for which they have composed music in 90's. 10 to 15 films in a year is unbelievable.

All thr critics of Rehman are conveniently forgetting his works in Lagaan, Taal, Earth etc and his numerous other scores in Tamils. It is natural for people to get inspired by other creations, what has to be noticed is that whether he has done justice to his creations and wehether the tunes are original. Without any celeb tag and coming from a humble background , if rehman has reached to this level, it is simply due to hs talent, his effort, perseverence and above all his hadwork, self belief and confidence. It is quite easy to tick off someone as a copycat. Just look at other celebs , who is in the limelight just due to the reason that they are born to a father or a mother or a family who had already made it big and have quite firm hold on the industry. you people have no problem hailing them has heroes, superstars and geniouses shamelessly and instead are out to malign the hardwork of a person coming from a humble background. Shame on you.

Dear Singha, I guess you are one of the person who never feels good for others. Just feel theres someone who gives such soothing music to our ears. Why dont u start appreciating instead of u finding to which album it resembles. Even if he takes the tunes from such albums whats wrong in it ? Havent u copied anything from others? Its high time u stop cribbing about copy rights and start appreciating .....All the best to u.

My problem with Rehman's copying and not acknowedging this fact.
You may be better off listening to the music created by the likes of Shankar jaikishen rather than this copy cat's copied music. U willl find SJ, Naushad Ali, SDB any day far superior than this charlatan chapadganju, an output of PR and marketing.

All these are not called copying. You dont seem to know the difference between copying and deriving inspiration. I think you'll also say Airtel adv. tune is copied from somewhere. Go think and come with an answer. The songs u've mentioned is not even 1% of his composed music.

Note that Dr Alban himself uses a lot of commercially available loops and CDs to create songs! Listen to Thenmerku paruvakaatru | Om we rembwe ike The beats are sure inspired. As usual the tune remains very original. The 'yei nee romba azhaga irukke' song, 'Poi sollalaam' uses similar beats!
9 Paarkadhey [Film: Gentleman (1993)] Alleged to be inspired from the Osibisa number 'Kelele' Listen to Paarkadhey | Kelele You decide!
10 Ekamevadhvitheeyam - Theme music from Baba [Film: Baba] Inspired from the the background music of The Untouchables (1987). Listen to Ekamevadhvitheeyam | Al Capone (The Untouchables) 'Ekamevadhvitheeyam' means "there is only one paramatma, no second entity". This song opens almost exactly like the prominent score from the cult classic 'The Untouchables' with music by Ennio Morricone. Why Rahman chose to lift this so blatantly really beats me, even if figures in Baba for a few fleeting seconds! In the soundtrack of The Untouchables, this tune plays almost throughout the movie, more so for the softer/sadder moments! I'm adding the track called 'Al Capone' which probably brings out the copy best, in my opinion! Tip: Play the Baba number in full volume, the opening plays in very low volume!
11 Ottagatha Kattikko [Film: Gentleman (1993)] Highly inspired by Raj Koti's Telugu pop song 'Eddem ante' sung by Malgadi Shuba, in 1991. Listen to Ottagatha Kattikko | Eddem ante
This album has nothing new compared to Rehman's older far better Hindi/ Tamil compositions. Well few of the notable compositions are 'Manmohini Morey' and 'Zindagi'. Other than that it is same old Rehman frothy melodramatic tunes rehashed from vintage Rehman stock.
From the trailers of the film it seems like another 'super duper Kisna' in making. All non-actors aka Salman, Katrina have come together for big bucks and dished out their below average acting prowesses.
