highly ,highly dissappointing music
by rocker on Oct 22, 2008 05:04 PM

Highly,I repeat highly dissappointing music.I really wondered whether these songs were composed by ar rehman or by his junior. after just average music of JTYJN ,here comes a ridiculous dud . i am really angry and did not expect this. he has lost touch of his early days.

music legend ilayaraja
by SUMAN on Oct 22, 2008 02:23 PM  | Hide replies

raja is the king of music dont be compare to raja&rehman.ilayaraja composed thousands of melodius songs.he is created lot of experiments in his music.birds sounds, water experiments.he is the gold medal in guitar at london university.raja composed maniratanam films nearly12 films.all are super hits .but rahmncomposed maniratnam films lot of flops.even roja songs are little bit copy of rajas old songs.resently sharukh khan also comments on rahmans music.but any actor or any director nocomments on rajas music last 30 years to still.rahman is the of ilayaraja still the age of 11 years to 22 years. so raja is the guru of arr.unfortunately rajas perid no media . but present situation lot of media hyped arr music.raja got 4 national awards.even arr respect raja.resently composed cheenikum is superb.unfortunately his some superb tunes copy to hindi films.so raja is the mount everest of music.

yuvaraja ard
Re: music legend ilayaraja
by yuvaraja ard on Oct 25, 2008 07:59 PM
this is for all who think ARR to be Brahmin and promoted him! He converted himself to muslim just because he was born as an SC and to hide the fact. Only because of that he was promoted by Manirathnam and balachander - otherwise he will be nothing in front of Illaiyaraja! IR is the great musician of all time and one can check any world. Todays world favourite M-I-A and Black Eyed Peas have songs inspired from Ilayaraja's creations and ARR himself couldn't do much in the other world. Better he learn he can't bake Pizza better than Italians. Hail Raja the best of all years and all worlds!

Yuvraj Music Album
by ashwin sundar on Oct 22, 2008 12:53 PM  | Hide replies

Folks should understand that ARR's music takes time for everybody to understand and appreciate. It's a common norm for any ARR album to sound bad or mediocre early on. It's with repetetive listening that the songs grow on you. Yuvraj may not be ARRs best album but definitely it's worth listening to. Also it's a reviewer's perspective of the album that is being published. Some times the level of the music that a film of this stature demands may not appeal to all the music afficionados but gets critical acclaim. I assume that the reviewer is some one who knows abt western classical music pretty well, hence is able to appreciate it.ARR is the only composer in Indian film history to have been a successfull composer in both Tamil and Hindi films apart from dishing out creative works like "Vande Mataram", "Pray for Me Brother", "Jana Gana Mana" etc. He's the only composer we have who we can proudly proclaim to be truely "world class". Please don't abuse a genius like him, just because some of you don't like the album. He's someone who has given immense joy to millions of Indians through his musicals over the past two decades.

The Sheer Wizardry
by Utkal Mohanty on Oct 22, 2008 12:29 PM

After hearing the CD about 20 times in the last 4 days, I can safely say this is one of Rahman's best, and a milestone in Hindi film soundtrack. It is afct that Rahman's music takes time to grow, because he is such an orginal composer. Be it the melody or the orchestration or the timbre of singers' voices, he never follows the beaten track. So there is nothing familioar you can hang on to. But repeated listening to Rahman is so rewarding! I mean, there is no other composer's album I would have listened to 20 times, let alone twenty times in 4 days! And I am quite confudent, I would be listening to it after twebty years with the same sense of thrill and heightened pleasure, the way I do with Roja or Bombay today. The sheer wizardry on display on this album is amazing.

dear ravi kumar, people call him a maestro because he revolutionized indian filim music scene. i don't agree with the review here because no one can write something on rahman's work soon after you here it for the first time. it takes time, as everybody know. i don't know how old you are. you might want to check the post as well as pre and post rahman era. if you didn't know, he did his first song for a film at the age of 10. even ilayaraja follow his pattern of western style. everybody follow rahman. ilyaraja has been doing songs in same rhythms. there is no doubt about how creative he is. also, you could try composing a tune related to some emotions and see how tough it is. these guys have been doing it for many movies. see how many pattern of new rythm styles rahman introduced. sorry bro, i didnt mean to drive you crazy. i just wanted to share how i feel. those who love music or know music will always love rahman. check in youtube about the vidoes of those who have copied from rahman. cheers

I originally belong to Chennai... all time fan of A R Rahman... i know ARR songs take time to register... but yuvraaj songs.. too bad.. no clues how subhash ghai accepted these crap songs... can't believe that after taal.. they can give such a crap music... gulzars lyrics don't syncronise with the music.. hardly any songs are hummable... don't understand.. why rediff and so called music reviewers.. rate other music directors like SEL.. Vishal Shekhar... and pritam... they too are highly creative... use excellent sound system... be it classical.. western.. or mix of two... still that song in jannat.. zara si dil mein de jagah too.. is still re refreshing... great lyrics of the song and music too... Tarein Zameein par... classic example of beautiful lyrics and music.. ARR it's high time.. he needs to understand the taste of north india.. another crap we hear.. his music is situational... and looks nice on the screen.. so let's accept his music is not worth hearing.. may be worth watching on screen.. so let's better save money and not buy this crap music called yuvraaj... finally ghai- rahman - gulzar managed to disappoint...

hi vaidhya nadhan, how are you doing? it will be great if you could those videos in youtube showing Pritam copied from indonasian bands. there will be a point when you love the tracks of yuvraj and i request you to post a comment then in here. theres nothing like the taste of north india. everyone has to do music according to the situation..you will know if you have seen jodha akbar. i live in oman and i listen to the arabian radio in on roads and i have listened to many arabic version of many indian songs that others have done...i guess those have listen to songs from all part of the world loves rahman than those who only listen to indian songs...rahman's music works after seeing the movie.
