Its a beautiful cinema, all credit goes to the captan Ashtosh. What a brilliant research, its shows absolutly the ancient times. The entire team, screen Play & Diaglog, supporting actors/actress, Music, Art/Settings, etc. etc. In the last the Hero & Heroine. The Drector & Producers are very tyrant. Its lovable one and every one should watch along with the whole families.
WHY DONT THEY MAKE FILMS ON SUPER HEROS LIKE MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH ,JASSA SINGH ALLUWALIA ,HARI SINGH NALWA ,BAJI RAO 1 ,SHIVAJI MARATHA AND MAHARANA PRATAPH SINGH...INSTEAD OF MAKING THIS CRAP AND DISTORTED FILMS ON THESE TURKISH AND MUSLIMS
People are rushing to rate ARR's music initially as bad and boring. Yeah there is no peppy numbers in this album. It is to justify the period of the movie theme(even the so called current gr8s like HR, SEL, Mithoon or Pritam when selects subjs like this compose similar stuff, bcause composin music for these kinda movies has lots of limitations)It requires lot of research and it is quite tiring to go back to the period that we know through history books. Looking all these facts ARR delivered the best. For those who say JA and Guru music is boring, just hear the background compositions/instrumentals of both.It is quite ouststanding...I believe that people who says that ARR produces borin music will be praising for his fast numbrs in coming movies like 1)Gajini Remake, 2)another amir khan production movie,3)Dilli6 and many....
Rahman... the name itself is quite musical....and the man has justified the name... Lets forget commercialism for a moment. Talk about ragas and adaptations therein... Swades - Yeh tara woh tara - Raag Jhinjoti. Ahista Ahista- Raag Puurva. Barso RE (Guru) - Raag Bhairavi, Hai Rama - (Rangeela) - Raag Purya Dhanashree......... Now JA --- i havent heard JA except for Khwaja - and it is a Sufi adaptation of Raag Mishra Marwa..... Thats what talent is.... Salute to ARR!!
A.R Rahman has done a great job with this one.I really bought the CD with expectation of just one song 'jashne bahaar' . But after one round of hearing the melodious tunes of JA , i was completely hooked on to it. I definitely feel that JA is way superior to GURU.Personally do not believe that any kind of marketing gimmicks is required to sell a quality album like JA. The music acts a feed to imagination and takes u smoothly to realm of beautiful mind imageries. Guys, please do not download from free websites, Go and buy a CD and enjoy the melody of JA. We can really feel the royalty in music of Jodha Akbar. Hope and wish that Ashuthosh gowariker can do the picturisation of these awsome songs up to the expected standards. Hear JA music in Quality Music system with headset on or on a long drive. Am sure , u will be hooked on the granduer and soothing music of JA.
WHY DO INDIAN FILM MAKERS INSIST on having playback for films? What kind of trash is this JashneBahara? Why the heck cant they portray the situation as it is? Do you really think Akbar had time to 'romance' Jodhaa in the midst of his military pursuits? Even the montage of Aish looks so 21st century- EEK! There is an artificiality permeating the movie. Right down to the faux classical Man Mohana. Why bother with the pretence? Did they even try to find what was the language of the era? Just because he is a Mughal emperor, you fit in a Jashne Bahara..or that Jodha is Hindu, you have a Braj-boli? Did anyone bother to check if Urdu and Braj Boli existed in the 16th century? Urdu most certainly DID NOT. Most of Akbar's chronicles are in Persian. Superfluous farce thats all it is.

hey pathetic.........you are reallly pathetic.........why don't you understand that movies are for entertainment not for history learning and if you are interested in learning then you should switch to Discovery or National Geo or History..............
In the era of MTV and VTV you can't get knowledge in films else try films of Emran Hassmi....quite learning exercise.......you really need it....

Movies "not for learning"??? I assume you LEARN by other means. If you really did learn by those other means then you would certainly question the authenticity like ssbmat which means you simply accept the film version as reality. These movies are made with an ignoramus like you in their minds. Get bored to death for 3 hrs with endless costumes. That's history to us!

ssbmat is absolutely right and have a very valid reason behind the critic...anyone dont watch movies to learn history but apparenytly understand history through movies...wrong depiction is wrong understanding..this is why an epic must be researched to details...entertainment is right but through right medium...you yourself analyze, dont you know all about anarkali only through mughal e aazam??? whatever you discuss and feel proud about the knowledge of anarkali is through the movie...and did u go to watch mughal eaazam because of learning history????? think think.... movi is just not entertainment... and epic is no joke like hero heroine dancing around a tree and you all clapping to falling payjamas of shakti kapoor...!!! cheers!

You are saying he should have made the movie in persian?? People like you talk a lot about about realism, but are themselves pretty unrealistic...
I bet you secretly like these movies, and get bored of the realistic ones ...
This fools, instead of spending so much money making a movie about Akbar and how romanced and had sex with our hindu girls, they should make a kick ass movie about Rajput warrior Rana Pratap Singh whom never submit to Akbar and fought him throughout his life. Do we really need this kind of shit movie now?

then why you funny person listening songs and wasting your money......aur Rana Pratap ka itna hi khayal he to pehle unke dikhai hui raah pe chal....leave all media of entertainment and concentrate on upgradation of your house, neighbour, city, state, Country and finally everyone...rather then giving your f'''ing comments on Music which is composed by AR Rehman written by Javed Akhter....

dear do u know Rajput never did anything for country. U know about GT Road/ Mahatma Gandhi Road which is connecting all over india, yes it was made by Aurangzeb. Few historians spread myths.

GT road was actually made by Sher Shah Suri- He was the guy who uprooted the Mughals by defeating Humayun, thats why Akbar was born in a Rajput house as Humayun was on the run. Unfortunatley Sher Shah got martyred himself in a battle and thats how Humayun( Mghals) came back. In his 5 year rein Sher Shah also started a postal system and sarayas- road side motels for travellers and many more things
(Continued) Lets compare this with the that. When you reach to certain altitudes everyone%u2019s estimations also go high and look for a great composition. This qawwal falls into just an another qawwal but as an ARR fan would listen couple of times more to find anything ;-) In Lamhon Ke Daaman Mein: Just another so called bollywood song. This is a Sonu Nigam song rather than an ARR song. Sung very well as he is a master of playback singing. But still we cannot hear again and again. Chorus is used very well but not as well as his last composition in %u2018Guru%u2019 %u2018Aye Hairate%u2026%u2019.
That%u2019s it nothing great about this album except that Hritik and Aishwarya Rai (now bachchan, instead I feel it should be Abhishek Rai). I have compared only with songs composed by him as I don%u2019t want to compare with legends of Hindi cinema. If I really want to enjoy music, I can still go back and pick any of Khayyam%u2019s compositions which are original and also master pieces. I just gave an example here. I would rate not more than 1 out of 5, leaving the fame, name etc%u2026%u2026.. - I breathe music, Raaj
ARR is a whiz kid to Indian music especially hindi. Agreed he changed how music should be rendered and composed to an extent. He got epics like Roja, Bombay, Lagaan, Taal and recent Guru in his pocket when its hindi. There is no doubt about this and one would be fool if I say he won't compose good music.
But this time in short the music of Jodha-Akbar is not so impressive. One can say that ARR music always tend to be overlooked initially and would love when you listen for the more than 3 times, but this time it was as BFN. Here is my view as a music lover on much awaited Ashutosh's JA.
Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah: This song is sung very well and is impressive. But when we compare with the altitude where ARR is, this composition doesn't match. Its a tune from his 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh' for which he bagged prestigious National award. ARR is very famous because of his continuous experiment with classic and being contemporary. This is a good song but not to his altitude. Can listen and keep as a collection. Jashn-E-Bahaara: Just another so called bollywood song with ARRs flute, but no comparison to Roja. Khwaja Mere Khwaja: Mix of both Hindustani classical and soofi (what ARR is best of). ARR rendered this excellent. But definitely NOT a great qawwal, I say it again not a good one. Lyrics are so so, that is not up to a mark where God is being praised. When you look at his own past record in Qawwals he had an very well rendered and composed qawwal in %u2018Meenaxi %u2013 A Tale %u2026..%u2019.
