I can't understand who decides to send this genre of film for Oscars. This film is absolutely nonsense production.Even the domestic audience rejected it outrightly, even then it was sent for Oscar.Kindly someone tell these member of jury to pack their baggages and seek seclusion in Himalaya rather than waiting for Oscars.

some other worthy movie may have had a crack at the honour rather than sending a dud like ekalvya.

Serves Vidhu right
by shakri on Jan 16, 2008 03:04 PM

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is an arrogant and pretentious human being who thinks of himself as being 'a cut above the rest'. It is a good thing his movie did not make it else there would have been no end to his never ending ego trips.

OSCAR fiasco ...
by zainul abedin sayed on Jan 16, 2008 02:57 PM

Eklavya, to Oscars was itself a big mistake. Our film makers have to learn a lot about film making. When you are bidding for Oscars you should prepare for the world viewer and not just a few hindi understanding countries. And the politics further screw our prospects. Right?

I personally feel that Eklavya did not deserved to be in Oscar atall , it is worst movie in 2007 and i did not like the script or acting also.Just because lot of big names where there in films does not mean it should be selected to oscar, it is hightime we need to select the cream movie for the oscar.I feel taare zameen par is nicely done movie and should be definitely selected for the oscar and hope it wins the prestigious prize.

Amitabh is unparallel in acting n the King of Hindi cinema but Eklavya not....
by champion on Jan 16, 2008 02:40 PM

In Eklavya still the acting of BiG B is again the best of the actor but film to be nominated in the foreign films OSCAR shoud be intellectual, trend setter, or should have stake of any american or european producer, actor...Eklavya was not among them...

It was easily the worst movie that Indian filmdom, that same idiotic Bollywood could have sent for Oscars. Its another reminder of how our filmmakers has just fixation for big names and not the quality. Its better be out.
