American movies overrated!!
by sandeep kumar on Jan 16, 2008 01:35 PM  | Hide replies

Indian films are never given credit despite they being feel good, story line etc. For example THE DEPARTED had nothing but mindless violence, but ekalavya had such classy star cast and story and also based on ancient story. But everyone credited DEPARTED. Hindi movies about time are given credit...lets not support the overrated HOLLYWOOD anymore

Movie making is a different art. I dont think you understand that. If you say that The Departed had nothing, then you you must be a die hard fan of those story-oriented saas bahu serials

AB is always the KinG of Bollywood but apart from AB's acting nothing special in Eklavya....
by sameer jain on Jan 16, 2008 01:30 PM

Though the acting of Bollywood king in Eklavya was yet another benchmark, there was nothing so special in the story & other characters.

get ur facts right before u comment....Black was a copy of a hollywood movie. Indians were critisized by an international jury when this was sent as Inidan nomination in one of the festivals. Sanjay leela should have informed the Indian panel that he is doing a remake.

Sending Indian films to Oscar
by Dipal Choudhury on Jan 16, 2008 01:15 PM  | Hide replies

How many times we will hear that these trashes are being thrown out of Oscar race? This is demeaning of India.
Folks, I&B Ministry and Ms Sharmila Tagore must sit and send only the best film(s) to Oscar.
I did not understand who to send Eklavya. Some body must own responsibility to send this crap.
This year it should and may only be Taare Zamin Paar

Eklavya....???
by Jyoti Sharma on Jan 16, 2008 01:15 PM  | Hide replies

I think we dont need the Oscars jury to take this call...this was evident right from day one when this movies was selected as Indias entry. Eklavya is such a bore movie with no storyline or grip on the script. I what is the criterion for deciding the movies for oscar nominations..is it the costumes in the movie which solely decide which movie should be nominated. Incidentally both the movies Ekalavya now and Paheli earlier have nothing else excpet the indian costumes. They dont talk about the Indian values or culture or anything in relation with India...Ekalavya is a scriptless movie with nothing worth in it. Neither the acting nor the storyline nor the music.Good that its out in the initial rounds. We must learn to choose the right films for such events.
