On of the best news article on the subject ..
by on Feb 23, 2008 10:53 PM

This is the best news article I have come across after hours of internet browsing. I was looking for historical truths and this one puts those accurately and in perspective quoting the references appropriately. Well done. Thank a lot.

Who cares what happened then
by Noel D'Souza on Feb 21, 2008 09:00 AM  | Hide replies

Who the f cares ? Movies are fictional. They are there to enjoy. All movies are supposed to lie. Do you think whatever depicted in any other movies has truth to it? Even Gandhi (which I think closest to reality than any other movie) was modified to fit fictional version.

By the way, history itself is set of lies. Historians and writers of those days had to write whatever pleased the rulers of the day in order to get rewarded and not get killed. That's why Moghuls have one version, Rajputs have another version, British have another version of same story. In short, history is nothing but full of bull shi*.

Second stupid article in a row in part by Omkar Singh (I read one yesterday about gun killings in NY being higher than Delhi) If morons like thes get paid to write stupid articles, I sure can be a writer (or whatever you call it) I can definitely do a better job than this Joker Singh.

What if I was to make a equally great movie with you and your family in a not-so-good role (i do not wish to use a language similar to yours, but I sure do have the ability)? What if I make use of real names and characters so as to make it appear another depiction of truth? Just try to imagine. Will you stand by your statement then?

great movie!!
by progress on Feb 20, 2008 05:53 PM  | Hide replies

whether it happened or not we dont know....but movie is great....a simple love story with lots of grandeur and royalty around....
and most importantly it spreads a message of secularism....the use of language in the movie is great....the real charm of pure hindi and pure urdu.....on one side u have mann mohana song in worship of lord krishna and on the other u have khwajaji a beautiful sufi devotional song....
I wish every person in india develop this kind of respect for each other's religion and culture...like what akbar and jodha did...

Well .. well it is good to have secularism and respect for religions... but truth is important too. We should not continue to be slaves and worship people in power (or people who were once in power) and fantasizing these people in God's shoes. There are better examples of secularism and tolerance in Indian history (if one was to look). Why this one is taken and magnified into such a large proportion is a mystery to me. Probably the same reason for which India will be home to the largest english speaking population in coming years.

Respect the Hardwork
by swati dwivedi on Feb 20, 2008 03:49 PM

it might be a distortion of facts..but even history has been manipulated from time to time by the rulers. In this case, Jodha Akbar can be taken as a director's perception(and that too, a director who does not make crap)It was a great movie to watch and the scenes and treatment showed that the fact that Ashutosh Gowarikar had researched before getting himself into the project.
So lets not debate about the issue and enjoy pure entertainment- Bollywood stands for that

coalition government system
by Piyush Panchal on Feb 20, 2008 02:35 PM  | Hide replies

in todays world to remain or to get in power parties join togather and form a coalition. in stead of fighting each other they get togather for each others mutual convenience and benefit. in earlier days strategy of coalition was get on of the lady married to somebod in the other camp thereby avoiding war. this was coalition politics then. some lady from the rajputs must have married some guy of the mughals to have peace. it was done and over with and they lived happily ever after. why is everybody raking their brains on all this nonsense. i have wasted my time trying to drum sense into us indians.
