I am very pleased to know that Talwar has shown the guts of challenging it. My personal experience with the movie, is that "It is a pathetice, senseless, and boring moving, produced over a long period of time". How can that go to oscars, which has not inspired a single person in India. Where is Chak de, who has actually inspired people around.
I am sure that Talvar will win this challenge, and I am with you.

Dharam is a very good movie, the film selection board argued that the producers of this film will not be able to promote the movie for the oscar. If this was the case then the next best option shud have been Chak De. Yashraj would have promoted the film for the oscars and remember a film based on sports is very likey to win the Oscars. Apaharan was good but the issues raised in the movie are not even national issues. Its only restricted to UP or Bihar

Chawla - Talwar cannot win this challenge.. she is not competent enough - all she can do is go on a publicity rampage by piggy backing on the fame of a kick ass film maker like Chopra. And ofcourse she has suckers like you who support her

rishi you can't send Chak de which has only half team work,..shows coach's bias towards one particular player...and makes every thing much easy for India hockey team..even the commentry done by some one is below par...It ia good movie but not a great movie..Only our best movie should go & this year's best is Dharam...first see movies beyond SRK & Karan johar & then say...have you seen Apharan...can you see the strong message put by that film...that is a real inspirational movie....for me even black is an over directed over acted movie...first see all the good movies which are beyond all the goodness ...& present true picture....why are we forgetting Parzania....

Just a correction, the pathetice movie which I mentioned above is Eklavaya
ANY HOW THE INTERNATIONAL JURY IS BIASED AGAINST INDIAN MOVIES ( MADE BY INDIANS - REMEMBER 'GANDHI' WAS MADE BY RICHARD ATTENBOROUGH ) ON TOP OF IT WE HAVE A JURY IN INDIA WHICH WILL SEND ANY POTBOILER TO THE OSCAR SO LONG AS THE RIGHT STRINGS ARE PULLED. ORIGINAL CONTENT GETS SWEPT AWAY - MEDIOCRE COPY CAT FILMMAKERS HOLD SWAY !
Everything is baised in India. Black didnt go but peheli gone. same in case of Lage raho munnabhai. Sajjid khan and Farah khan is talking more because they are the chamcha's of Shahrukh Khan. Why We are behind Oscar yaar? We are giving importance to their Awards. When they dont understand us and our culture then how can they give us award.

Jeooo... Mr. Dhal...! I m in complete agreement with u..! these ppl arent aware of our culture and our sentiments...! this was the reason y Lagaan was deprieved of it..! Moreover... this doesnt persist in Oscars but different fields too..!

I agree with u baba...Black was an over direted, over acted...pathetic,,,wasteful copy of a good english film...Did u see Iqbal..the boy in that was also disabled but never did we feel that he was pitiful..
hey Oscars...Oops!!!Many of you guys seems to have forgotten a movie that has capture the attention of all the Indians, Alas not only of Indianns but of people over the globe!!!!Yup you got it right SIVAJI...that should be indias nomination to oscar... If it is esnd or if the people at the top brass are benign enough to consider this legendory movies as worthy to be send to Oscares bet on me it will emerge as the best movie and our Rajni anna will be the Best Actor...plz consider Sivaji if you want our india shine bright....

by Milind Shinde on Sep 30, 2007 10:59 AM
Mr... Neo..! Sivaji is a timepass movie...! its just that u ppl have made havva out of it..! Sending it to oscar will make the oscar juries to think twice before taking any Indian nominations henceforth...!

Jokes about Sivaji apart, is there a rule saying only Hindi movies are to be sent as India's official entries to the Oscars? Don't we have brilliant movies made in regional languages like Bengali and Malayalam? When movies from these languages sweep away the National awards, why are they so ignored when it comes to the Oscars?
RE:SIVAJI...can fetch oscars
by Arvind Singh on Sep 30, 2007 01:44 PM
Just because in National Awards you have movies of all national languages, but when u sent it out of country u have to follow the norm of Official Language (they are English or Hindi) no see which language movie u would sent...English or Hindi...?

by KS on Sep 30, 2007 10:55 AM
Thats exactly what I hate about it... Eklavya is not an Indian movie... I could not identify with the movie at all... I still think we should send genuinely Indian movies(Hindi or other languages)liked by everyone... And, not like Eklavya, which was such a boring movie... with only a few brilliant scenes... and no story or substance...
RE:Eklavya is the right choice !!
by Milind on Sep 30, 2007 11:21 AM
I didnt say it was not an Indian movie. I thought it was full of the kind of Indianism that west knows. The story is universal of course. Boring or not is subjective !!
Eklavya doesnt deserve to be in the oscar race movie is one of the biggest peice of shit i have ever seen I think the movie is only going to oscars is because Chopras earlier movies like parineeta and LRMB didnt make it Its all about egos. We dont care for a cinema for its cinematic values Who cares anyway, like Eklavya has any chance of even making it into the top 5 let alone winning but as an Indian i wish the Eklavya team good luck
As long as there is Sarkari control in selecting the Jury, extremely bad films like Eklavya would go to Oscars and spoil our image internatinally. Anil Aeron
