What if Harshit had won???
by Navtej Singh on Nov 27, 2007 12:51 AM

I am so disgusted by the forum so full of hatred, I wish Harshit had won. I think Sikhs in foreign country should sponsor Ishmeet for the best music education in the world and use him for train the trainer session for our future. If I was Ishmeet, I'll give that award away to Hindu Patriotists. My view anyways, I know doesn't worth much.... to 98% of India's population

Sikhs and India
by Navtej Singh on Nov 27, 2007 12:37 AM

Indians should thank for 2 entities. The Sikhs and The British Rule. The Sikhs because Hinsuism still exists or long time ago it would have turned into a muslim country. The British, who taught them English Language for they are doing better by hook or crook in foreign countries.

Congrats to Ismit!
by sarvesh upadhyay on Nov 26, 2007 04:45 PM

First of all congratulation to Ismit to become VOI champion.I belongs to Uttar Pradesh.
We should first understand what is reality show?
We all know that by raising this regionalism in these show TV channel are earning money from common ppl.

We all know that there will be a voting through SMS, so where is the quality comes. If this the reality then we should appreciate Ismit has got more vote than Harshit. And we all know that after this both and others like Toshi, Irfan etc. need to work hard now their journey has just started this is not the end.
They have not even sing a song for any movie. They need to work hard and improve their singing. There is not question of whois better but who got the most votes.
Beleive me I did not vote to anyone because I don't want to play in hand of TV channels.
Similarly, in ZEE TV people know what is happening.

In Reddiff, good people sometimes writes ugly things only to response to others.Sometimes some ppl know that Harshit or Ismit whoever is better in their view and to show their view they write something bad in their columns and in response to that even a better peoson write again a bad thing which he knows that it is not right but still he/she wants to reply to others.

First of all we need to understand that TV channels exactly want this from people to fight on regionals. One more thing in India, people are not so mature I think to elect a good candidate in election for their cause like raods, light, water, education and

VOI Debate - Singer or Religion
by prabhdeep lamba on Nov 26, 2007 04:37 PM  | Hide replies

The current debate on VOI being won by a SIKH has generated a debate. I am a Sikh as well as am into professional music for the past few years- If we talk about the most qualified singer in VOI, it was Abhaas (flawless singing in every performance); Toshi was a good singer, so was Sumitra, but their performances degraded in every episode; Harshit's low nodes were fabulous (which was lacking in every singer except Abhaas)..But if we are looking at someone who can be Playback Singer, then Harshit was never the choice, as his voice was not unique, and he did commit mistakes in a lot of performances .. Toshi has a unique voice that music directors can use in their films...Now about Ishmeet - His voice quality was superb - simply melodious - but he needs to hone his skills by learning Shastriya Sangeet..the guy has incredible qualities to learn - clearly shown by the fact that his every performance got improved in every episode & in the last 2 episodes, he gave complex to Harshit too ... his choice of songs was also simply great .. singing a simple song perfect is better than destroying a tough song ... but definitely, he was not the best voice in VOI.. Regional voting will always be the case in all talent shows, so if people have so much problems in that, they should stop watching them, so that their TRPs get reduced & they are forced to be off air. Actual test for all the winners, as well as runner ups will be what they do now in the industry. Finally, I am proud to be a SIKH

It is natural for one to support someone from his/her state. (I'm not dragging relegion into this). but i can't digest it when the anchor of the show talks in a way that creates a regional divide (may be it is to get the viewers from differetn states to send more SMSs - the mobile connection providers should be making a lot of money because of these shows..) IT simply cant be tolerated.

No No No, should stop public voting
by Manikanth on Nov 26, 2007 01:46 PM  | Hide replies

Atleast for more than two years we have witnessed the outcome of this reality shows. Both Indian idol 2 and 3 , Star VOI winners do not deserve the status. This public voting should be mixed with 60 % of the Judges verdict, then only we can search the real talent admist of many talents.

Verdtict : Please mix the judges votes with public votes.

You are right. It is regional votes that matter. If you are from a place where most of the people watch teh show, you are likely to win. And what's hurting is that those who present the show actually talk about this in a way that makes it soudn like the singers are from different countries and not from within India. I heard in one show one participant saying something like so and so guy got so many friends. where are the Gujaratis? Gujarati ko harayega kya...This should not be allowed in a show. and this particular guy was literally begging for votes...I can understand if the viewers say things like "he is a Punjabi (or any other word to describe anyone from a state) so he will win. But how can the organisers of the show talk such nonsesne and create a regional divde?

What was the winning margin?
by Raghava Charya A.V.V. on Nov 26, 2007 01:34 PM  | Hide replies

When Harshit won from 3 regions and only North zone score was left to be announced, Lata Mangeshkar simply declared Ishmeet as the winner without declaring the voting pattern from the North in which U.P. was also a part. How come?

i don't understand why we always mix religion, caste and state in all things. it is simple business and about money, talent hunt is only by product. in the long run, only worthy candidate shall succeed.

Wrong Decission!
by R Mit on Nov 26, 2007 05:12 AM  | Hide replies

Hi,
First of all, the reality show was about to choose the VOICEOF INDIA! and Harshit was the winner from South, East and West. So how come they can make Ishmeet the VOI as he was totally failed from the 3 Zones out of 4. They should have made Harshit as the VOI and Ishmeet The VOP[voice of punjab].
