He has told Kunal Kohli an over rated director. Now paying the price.

RGV is boast of himself always - now paying the price.

Thank God... thank you.

kunal kohli is surely overrated, and ramgopal verma is a genius even though Sholay was pathetic. Bhansali is for the class and not for the mass.

Bhansali is for the phony, pretentious mass who think they are the only intellectuals left in the country.

Anybody who stays away from the hackneyed Bollywood 'masala' formula, qualifies as an intelluctual.

what right does he have to say about other Directors? He even commented that he is in no mood to watch OSO? Has he tried to enquire if anyone in his senses is in a mood to watch Saawariya? That movie should be aptly renamed Yaawnariya?

Saawariya is so gaya movie. It was hyped because of sony pictures and Bhansali. But it is the disaster the third rate movie, nothing is good in this movie, PAKAAU, FAALTU.

Its for the classes definitely, does not have a mass appeal which is usually true with most of his movies. But the reviewer shud not be biased which is very sad with rediff that they always get this dude to review who is utterly biased.

Cheap show by rediff
by kishan on Nov 12, 2007 10:11 AM  | Hide replies

Media is like mirror to the society. But some reporters do not understand this. I am reading rediff revews since 3 years now and I was never so disappointed. I read the review of Sawariya on rediff and decided not to watch this movie. Today I was trying to get the ticket of OSO at NAZ8, fremont, CA for 3pm show but I did not get. My friend forced me to watch Sawariya instead. And trust me I would have missed an fine art by Bhansali. The music is too good. Wonderful acting by Sonam and Ranvir. Esp. the scene where Ranvir explains Sonam how to fight against sadness is too good. I think you guys must have noticed its a single shot!!

Saawariya is really good movie to watch, if you are not baised!!

Thanks to readiff for making me realize not to trust anybody blindly. I have decided not to read any review on rediff now on. I think the prostitutes are much better than this cheap Raja sen and Taran Adarsh.

This made me not to watch OSO, these baised guys writing so good things about the film means it may not be good.
One advise to these guys. There are many other ways and professions to earn money or show your respect to an individual, please dont use media for these things. Please... People trust media, dont make them not to trust the media. I know these words wont change your attitude but just thought like writing. I Know one should never try to straighten a dog's tail.....

TO HELL WITH REDIFF

Worst movie ever seen. Dont waster your money. entire movie runs on a single location. There is no sun rise in the movie. The entire shooting is taken in the night. Out of 3 hours movie u will see ranbir and sonam on screen for 2 and half hours. Totally bakvas movie.

Hey guys relax man! why ask Bhansali to go to hell? he tried to make a simple love story. i thought it went back to basics, with a beautiful posh background! u dont like the movie, that's fine. but to ask a man, who worked hard for two years for something he believed in, to go to hell is a wee bit harsh!
i suppose one cant always manage to keep everyone happy...........

who wants reality?
by on Nov 12, 2007 07:45 AM  | Hide replies

"Thousands of Bollywood songs are shot with madcap little unreal backdrops; Bhansali has just used one of those for his entire film"

well what are bollywood films if not 'unreal'? so what if a whole movie was shot before an 'unreal' backdrop? isnt it consistent with the 'unrealness' of Bollywood? the grandeur, the lavishness, the musicals?

"in a stylised world impossible to relate to.."
so how many bollywood movies do we relate to every day? how many characters, sets, plots or backdrops? the song sequences? Bollywood movies arent meant to depict reality. they are a piece of escapism for those who wish to indulge.

and i would say the whole aestehtic of the film was to portray that very sense of surrealism, sense of other-world, a poetry, and the subtlety comes in your own interpretation of the cinematography and art be it blue or not, the architecture, whimsical or not and the dozen or so songs, impeding the narrative or not (arent the songs meant to propel the narrative? i thought they did so)

I guess if we wanted reality or 'subtlety' we'd go see Om Shanti Om now wouldn't we? ;)
