Truly great Music by music maestro Ilayaraja, maybe the reviewer has been listening to more & more music by Himesh, so cannot really differentiate between good & bad music
jaane do na is rehashing of famous song Joteyali jotejoteyali from the kannada movie Geeta, my firend is feelins it is from Kannada movie Pallavi Anu Pallavi...ilai raajs is always likin shrill voices of women singers even in his south songs
Please do not put people who are deaf to real music to write some stupid crap. The music is exceptionally good in cheeni kum. Try to respect great work.
piss on sonia's article... dont know why rediff has asked sonia to write on illayaraja's work. Sonia you dont know music.. you are fit to comment on substandard music composed by bollywood music director.
Am no music expert n i did not even know cheeni kum music is by Ilayaraja. but i have been listening to the promos in the tv for last couple of days n i thought it sounds so refreshing n different n easy on ears unlike those unbearable nasal deliveries by this baseball cap monkey thrust on you every time u switch to a music channel. even my two yr old comes running to listen to cheeni kum promos! after reading your stupid review and the tremendous negative responses to it from the message board i've decided to go n get a cd of cheeni kum. thank u rediff!
http://in.movies.yahoo.com/070514/128/6frgu.html < BR>Whilst the rest of the world is writing glowing reviews, Sonia, as a truly 'qualified' Rediff reviewer writes such nonsensical trash.
I too felt that Raja had run out of creativity when I heard for the first time, but on the second hearing itself I realised his wizrdry over the orchestration and melody.
Even though the skeleton (basic tune) are from his old songs, his orchestration and presentation are too contemporary. It needs so much of knowledge to present the songs oven fresh. Hear those Tamil originals and Hindi songs back to back, you'll understand I mean.
I feel pity for North India audiences who are deprived of good music and hail Himesh Reshammiya as the "Great Composer"... Then you judge their standards by yourself.. ha! ha! ha!
