Well, I'm composing the review of the most expensive movie in Indian History after making myself all qualified after watching it in all the three A, B and C centers. A movie review should be true by all means, so that it reflects the opinion of at least 90% of the audience and should criticize and appreciate the minuses and pluses of the movie respectively. For a diehard Rajnikanth fanatic it's a real challenge to pen a review like that for "Sivaji - The Boss". I will ensure that I go by the true ethics of writing a review. Wait! I swear I will surely unleash the fanatic beast in me as this review proceeds (in a separate section) and hope to make this one an entertaining read for you all. Here it goes.
If you think that its the box office records that are awaiting to be broken or those that are to be created is what "Sivaji - The Boss" has to battle out, then you are wrong. Surprisingly, scrambled screenplay wages a war on the movie and Rajni, the one man army, somehow manages to win the battle with its magical skills and style. To be honest, I was left somewhat disheartened when I watched it on the 0th day, a preview show at Melody theatre with expectations soaring high. If you go to the movie hall with no expectation thinking that the movie will be a "No Logic - All Magic" kind, then this movie is a sure shot Commercial Family Entertainer for you.

It was rajni's movie all the way. This is not for those who walk into the hall more as shankar's fans than rajni's. Its a treat to all those who were dying to see the superstar sizzle on screen. And sizzle he does, in all the lighter scenes in the 1st half, and more so when he switches to aggressive mode in the 2nd half. The highlight of the movie is the last 20mins!! Mottai boss wearing a black trench coat, tapping his bald head, flipping his glasses back and forth and walking his trademark nonchalant, stylish walk had me jumping and screaming!! The 2nd half was ammmmazing and rajni's entry in the adhiradi song was terrific!! The entire song was done well with some funny, yet stylish stunts.
Now for some of the minuses - though the comedy sequences were good in the 1st half, they could have been shortened a bit coz it felt as though they were totally off-track. Critically speaking, the plot and the way the hero goes about implementing stuff lacked the depth and innovation expected from a shankar's movie. But rajni's movies have never had substantial plots anyways. And its amazinnng how rajni's screen presence eclipses all these flaws. Though rajni's intro was good, I missed the usual adrenaline pumping intro scene followed by the intro song. Has shankar tried to be different at the wrong place here? And dont we miss the cigarette trick?!!! Imagine mottai boss jumping out of the chopper, pushin aside his coat and popping a cig while walking his usual stylish walk!! sighhhh.

Shivaji is a remake of Chirageeve starrer 'Tagore' and has fight sequences lifted from the english movie 'Martix'. Rajani's Chandramuki ,the biggest tamil grosser is the remake of Kanada/Malayalam movie 'Aptamitra' and moreover rajani has recently bought the remake rights of Kannada classique movie 'Duniya' for a whooping sum.

After all the hype, I also stepped in with so much of expectations.. Overall I can classify the movie review in 3 ways.
Shankar Movie : Below average to the standards of Shankar Rajni Movie : Blockbuster, but one thing i should say.. he is really finding it hard to dance.. his age is clearly seen when he tries to tap his foot Rajni fans : No matter what, if thalaivar is on screen.. the magic really works..
On an overall rating , i would rate just as a good movie, thats all.. there is nothing extraordinary..due to lot of logicals flaws and screenplay holes.. Sivaji, a NRI coming back to India to do some good things to the society like giving free education and free medical support.. as usual there is a villain, who is already running same line of business with lot of corruption with the help of politics.. giving all the troubles finally how Superstar get rid of all these things and succeed..
This simple story is given in a very funny and comic way.. rajni and vivek makes a good comic pair.. shirya is good..
Highlight is the costumes and the art work.. manish malhotra magic worked really well with rajni, and thota%u2019s art work is mind blowing.. rajni could be 30 age with all his make up on.. but while dancing ,.. it is really pathetic to see him .. age really conquers rest of the things..
