Rajnikant's blockbuster film 'Sivaji' is said to have netted nearly Rs 2 crore in advance bookings from 17 theatres in Chennai, which is claimed to be a record for a Tamil film.
Megastar Chiru is the greatest actor in India. He is also doing the most social service than any other actor in India. He operates charity trust, blood bank and eye bank.He helped thousands of lifes. Can you guys tell atleast one charitable work done by AB or Rajini ? It's not about how much money you get paid for the money, it's about how much contribute back to the society. MEGASTAR CHIRU.......

chiranjeevi is a great actor, great dancer. But if you dont know what other person is doing, dont question without seeking answers. Rajini doesnt advertise, he is doing enough, more than what you or I do.

why do we think that we need so called social service, friend believe me if every Indian do his/her job with honesty and dedication, there isn't any need for social work. If AB or Rajni are earning so much, ultimately the money is going to Govt., its the politians who shud be blamed not these performers who are entertaining the common man, and believe me friend enetertining is also a kind of social sevice

Of course he is doing a lot of good things to the society but i wont say he is the greatest actor. Every actor is good in his own right like kamal, rajni, srk and mohan lal. But i like the way he dances with style and grace even at this age.

Chiru is a great star and a great person too. As far as your question about Rajini doing charitable work, refer to Rajinifans.com. They show all the charitable work done by Rajini and his fan associations. Also, Rajini is a very private person who doesn't seek any advertisement for all his charity work. I have nothing against Chiru and I love him. But Rajini is a phenomenon.

Hey I really dont know why this kind of discussion is going here. Dont compare anyone with anyone. That sucks to be idiotic in nature. It all depends upon individual's perception.
Peter, Do not base u r feedback on some shit site like IBOSNETWORK which nobody has heard about. You are posting in Rediff, why do not you take a look into Rediff box office performance. Rediff says, Cheeni Kum is a Flop and other sites are also saying a revenue of about 6-8 crores and here is site which reports 3 times its revenue!! Cmon use your sense and think how is that possible. That site may be the means for the producer to pull the fans to the movie. BTW the production cost of Sivaji is not disclosed it is somewhere between 70-80 crores (This is also a hyped estimate). Even if it earns 100 crores what is the big deal is 20 crores a small sum!! How many movies produced have such a budget. People are also forgetting one more fact, Sivaji is a Industry in itself. Look at the amount of money people earn by selling t-shirts, caps, flowers, Rajini posters etc. The amount of money these people make goes totally unaccounted!!

FOR - IBOSNETWORK is not a shit site. It is a source for all trade magazines my friend. It is the most autheticated source. And also, HIT status is given based on ROI generated, not on total revenue. Cheenikum is a small budget movie but it has generated 25Cr till now..hence it is a HIT. Look at Bheja fry - it has generated only 15CR, but it is a super hi because of higher ROI. BhejaFry was made out of budget 55Lacs....55Lacs generating 15CR is amazing.... Yes, Shivaji will be a big hit....And we all know, how faulty rediff is :)
the article sys what many ardent rajini fans would say about the movie and all...but the detail in which the article described the movie was too great..and describing the movie in such great detail especially after just 3 days is inappropriate...nevertheless good article and for my 2 cents worth - "this is a universal mega-hit"
Sivaji is a great movie for fans. The film is full of Rajini charisma. The way in which the superstar depicts the character is enchanting. The style he shows in this movie is something we haven't seen from Rajini in a long long time. The way he throws his bubble gum, the tricks he does with a coin, and that unbelievably awesome shaved head look... so many more to list. Rajini is called the boss in the second half of the film. In the climax, he appears with the shaved head and he walks towards the villain and says, "naanthan boss - mottaiboss" and taps this head. Just that scene was worth at the time it took for me to drive down to Dallas (I stay 4.5 hours away) and all the money I spent for the movie. It is a don't miss for anybody who likes Rajini as a superstar. Others please don't watch this movie and complain that Rajini is shown to be larger than life.
Domestic Net Total for Cheeni Kum is listed as INR 18 crores by ibosnetwork and not as 8 crores (as said by Indiafm and projected CNN-IBN). Please check your reference again.

karan - don't be abusive.... slu was pointing only rediff mistakes... and CheeniKum was a good movie...no need to degrade a movie for the sake of it.
Here are some data about Cheeni Kum Domestic Income Details Indiafm - INR 8.13 crores (after 3 weeks) CNN-IBN - INR 6 crores (after 2 weeks) Ibosnetwork - Gross INR 25 crores and Net INR 18 crores (after 3 weeks)
From this data, I would think Indiafm and CNN-IBN have comparable stats. But Ibosnetwork provides a 250% higher value. How do we believe the info from ibosnetwork?
RE:Reliability of data
by slu on Jun 19, 2007 01:19 AM
I am saying Indiafm and CNN-IBN are comparable because addition of 3rd week's income could put them in the same range (around INR 8 crores).

Hello slu .. Here we r talking bout 80-90 crore movies.. Pls dont bring ur cheap 6-8 crore movies and insult us . Pls go to 6-8 cr movies category like JBJ, tara-rumpum column and write this statistics ..

Tax is usually around 30-40% of Income. From Peter Lazar's theory, Cheeni Kum gets a special treatment and is taxed for 65-70%... Peter do you think that is what is going on?

Once again ibosnetwork says total domestic gross is INR 25 crores and total domestic net is INR 18 crores. Neither one of these figures is close to INR 8 crores reported by indiafm or CNN-IBN. So how do you say their data is more reliable than the others?

Slue , Please refer to my earlier statement, I used the word total gross which includes Domestic International colection without Tax deductions.
Gross - The term gross refers to the total amount made as a result of some activity.
Net - Net refers to the amount left over after all deductions are made.
From what I understand gross > net. And to the best of my knowledge, all the stats I provided are gross. Even if they are net, could you please explain what deductions account to INR 16-17 crores?

The figuers in India Fm are only Domestic figures ..check for oversea results too....also check http://www.ibosnetwork.com/

Ibosnetwork says the domestic gross is 25 crores. But others say it is around 8 crores. If their data here is not consistent, give me a reason to believe the other data are correct at ibosnetwork.
