I am quite surprised about people claiming about Bipasha Basu' or Aishwarya's acting. Dhoom 2, could be a BOX office Hit, but when it comes to Acting, actors in Dhoom 2 are BADLY HIT. For me Dhoom 2 was a boring movie. I was expecting much from Hritikh after watching KKrish.
Media Hyped about Bips wearing a Bikini, I don't think she was looking SEXY.
We are into 21st Century, let's live and think realistically and be matured enough to make a good judgement.
Heroines are integral part of any movie around the world but they need some solid role except for running around the trees, dancing in a drill dance or stupidly dancing in rain. Do we have the roles these days which made Meena Kumari, Nutan or even Asha Parekh to some extent. Who can forget Madhubala who had a chance to show her talent among Dilip Kumar and Prithviraj Kapoor in Mughal-e-azam.
Predominantly, in Indian film industries, barring the South where there is a knack for experimentation, heroines are always relegated to the backseat. The reason more being sociological than anything and this reflects in the movie world also. So, we get movies like Mother India, Arth, Bkack and some more once in a while, barring a few period films like Umrao Jaan interspersed in between.
We always think frailty thy name is women, but all the time vouching her as the symbol of "shakti". The time has come the script writers should have to exploit the most positive point of womenhood and that is sensitivity.Unless and until they do not do that we will continue to get films where women are more for decoration than a real need.
