Himesh is even worse than 10 foxes howling at night. If I am given a choice to listen to either hyenas or Himesh, I would pick hyenas.

Kishore Kumar
by Gundappa on Aug 20, 2007 01:09 PM  | Hide replies

Kishore Kumar was/is the best of all. Till now in any function, be it filmy or social, his songs only are sung. His easy movement in every type of songs made us bemused. His popularity is beyond sky. Kishore Kumar only had the same voice compatible with his singing voice and speaking voice. After you hear the voice of Md Rafi, you cannot believe that he is possessed with such a golden voice. Hence, Kishore Kumar was only having the open voice. After Kishore Kumar, Md Rafi, Mukesh, Hemant Kumar, Manna Dey (male voices), there is no singer today worth listening.

Gundaapa

Kishore kumar is a top singer no doubt but his songs are very one dimsensional and not of the class of Rafi .

You have your opinion and fair enough but the fact remains that Rafi ruled and rules to date. One has to liste to his songs from 40's through to 80's to judge why he is the guru of all singing gurus.

Kishore Kumar did not have such great music directors as that of Md Rafi. Rafi has become immortal due to those music directors. Then those music directors did not even care of Kishore Kumar. Both had sung commercial songs mostly. Only difference between was that Md Rafi was possessed with classical richness in his voice

MAKE UP YOUR MIND, SOMETIMES YOU SAY PANCHAM IS GREATEST AND NOW YOU SAY RAFI WAS GOOD BECOZ OF THE MD'S.

DONT FORGET EVEN MUKESH, MANA, HEMANT, TALAT, MAHENDRA HAD THE SAME MD'S BUT THEY COULD NOT EXCEL LIKE RAFI.

YOUR VIEWS ARE FLAWED

1945 - 1950
Talat
Rafi
Mukesh
Durani

1950 -1970
Rafi
Mukesh
Manadey
Mahendra Kapoor
Hemant da

1970 -1977
Kishore
Rafi
Yesudas

1977 -1980
Rafi
Kishore
Yesudas
Shailendra

after 1980 -- complete fall down in standards of playback singing and music in general.

It is clear that one name stands out in the male singing criteria and that is of Rafi, without any doubt the complete naster of siging, the best of the best.

saigal saab was in 1930s and balu was after 80s. Balu was a good singer in south india but he sucks in hindi movies. he sings with a very heavy accent and apart from ek duje ke liye, MPK, HAHK he didnt sing much in hindi anyway.

Saigal saab was the kingpin of singing, the top guy, he was number one in and before 40's.

All the legends look upon his as their guru. He actually said to Rafi when he was 14 that he would rule the world of singing and he was right.

If anyone wants to see the living example of how human being evolves from apes and how did they look like then you can see Emran Hasmi, when he laughs it looks like he is just evolved from Apes, HEHE.

You are not right Mr. Vinay, check the list of ladies by Abdul Karim, he has put Lata - hindu by birth on the topmost number. He had a choice of Suraiya if Abdul Karim was communal.
