Lets divide the hindi film songs into two era,1.Post 1987 and 2.After 1987.
1.Post 1987-There are so many legend male singer like Rafi,Kishore,Manna,Mukesh,Hemant,Mahendra, Mahmood, Amit etc.But kishore and Rafi are more successful than others.
2.After 1987-There are Sanu,Udit,Abhijit,Sonu,Shaan,Babul etc.Sanu is most successful then comes Udit then Sonu. I am not try to tell about tallent because people are there to judge.
About National award Kishore and Sanu both fell to win it,so what?Yesudas won it 7 times,a really enchanting voice.With this I want to say AR.Rahaman got 5 National Awards but I mean to say who is there?Is there any competetor now-a- days?I will be not surprised if within 2015 it crossed 10.Sanu creates world record.Udit also a tough competetor of Sanu.But no words about Kishore and Rafi.
If anyone has doubt then at first proof yourself then comment.Only those people or famous music directors,lyricists,singers of their calibre can comment,we are nowhere against them to comment only to reliaze the truth.

Kumar sanu may be a god singer in hindi movies.But he will have to travel another 3 or 4 light years to match the current greats like SPB,yesudas etc. The hindi movie lovers dont know that even unni menon,sreenivas etc(south indian singers ) are much better than sanu. He was good at the times of ashiqui but now i think there are much better singers in hindi. HE will never be able to win a single national award (then 10 is hihi). But his only chance to win it is just to hpe that wen saif ali khan ,anil kapoor ,raveena tandon etc won it for other reasons he can also.If any one had seen the performnce of mammootty in Kazcha( a movie about the bond btween a malyali villager and gujarat earth quake victim) you will be surpridsed y he id not get national award for it while siaf got it .And hum tum performance is a comedy.Hindi cinema is not indian cinema .Its a collection of low quality ripoffs of succesful english movies.

Sanu is agreat singer of India and rule the industry in his era.It is very funny if anyone says he was luckey.It is just like if someone says Tendulker or Lara or Ponting are luckey.He proof himself.A luckey person can get 30 percent but not 90 percent.Some one comment no choice was there for music directors except him but remember Udit,Abhijit,Amit,Aziz even SP all were there.

In 1995 Kumar Sanu's monthly average income was 1 crore which was far ahead than all other film realted person like Big B,SRK etc.Just imagine.In 1990 to 1995 he almost thrashed everyone even he was the most popular Indian that time from film industries as well as other field.

Actually Sangeeth was Presenting you the list of the best Indian playback singers. Kishoreda is not only a national talent. If the list for best singer in the World is published Kishoreda would feature there at Numero Uno- The number one

Level-1 Male Singers Udit Narayan = much much better than Sanu Sonu Nigam = much much better than Sanu
Level 2 Male Singers Abhijit = much better than Sanu
Level-3 Male Singers Sukhwinder = better than Sanu
Level-4 Male Singers Kunal G, KK, Shaan = better than Sanu
Level-5 Male Singers Mohd. Aziz, Anwar = same as Sanu
Obviously, Singers line Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, etc are way above even the best amongst these singers, hence these are not brought into the comparison.

U r right. Infact Kumar sanu is not a good singer, luckily he got some good movies which got hit at that time. He sings with his nose and with very ugly and unbearable vibrations in the voice. Be cause of teh films got hit or for good tuned and lyriced music, this fellow also became popular. But it remained for some time only...now see his fate...no songs...It has to happen eventually to any singer without any talent.Luck can hold u for some time only... but, still his head weight has not come down..God show a good way to this person..

I absolutely agree to Bhaarat.Udit and Sonu or sonu & Udit , there tow are simply the most outstanding singer of the present era.and there is a lot of orchestra happening on TV now a days on the name of reality show.Even quality prograame like sa re ga ma has become mockery with himesh reshmiya selling himself all the time and Ismail durbar who shun his first wife showing core of religious bigotry on the other side. Hey you guys one Joker becoming the national champion on Fame gurukul.

If Manna Dey and Hemant Kumar have won twice each then it makes 4 times. Add S.D. Burman, Ajoy Chakraborty and Anup Ghoshal then you have seven (7) times. Its five only if you consider singers.

MANNA DEY AND HEMANT KUMAR WON AWARDS FOR HINDI. YESUDAS HAS ONE FOR HINDI AND ONE FOR TELUGU.
Today film music has changed so much that all main lead singers be it Kumar Sanu,Udit narayan Abhijit,Sonu Nigam or even Alka Yagnic all have become almost jobless.In Today's film music you do not need good singer.You need just about avrage voice which is different than ususual type.There were three types of mail voices idetified with Moh.Rafi,Kishore Kumar &Mukesh and female voices were identified with Lata(melody) and Asha( all others). But today you do not need any of these voices.That's the reason that today Sunidhi Chauhan is the latest craze and Shan.Kailash kher and many others find giving their voices to modern songs. Today music is known by the name of composer and any singer will do. So Mr.Kumar Sanu this is life accept these changes gracefuly.You had your share of fame.
