The M Word
by Murali Iyer on Aug 14, 2007 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

Aamir Khan has played a Muslim alternating between a friendly figure and one thirsting for revenge in 1947 - Fire ..

As far as the M-Word in sports is concerned, the Indian cricket team provides us with wonderful instances of performances by Zaheer Khan, Wasim Jaffer, Irfan Pathan and others ..

Salman played a Muslim in a film with totally Muslim atmosphere... it was Sawan Kumar Tak's Sanam Bewafa which was a hit.

I mean muslim atmosphere means all the Heroines must cover their face or act as a true muslim.

muslim means no dances or drinking

You said "looks like prem chand has not watched Indian news channel in years. Prem Saheb, havent you seeen our heros and heroines taking rounds of temples on news channels. Bachans,Ash,Sanjay Dutt,Govinda....nowadays Siddhi Vinayak and Thriupati is more crowded because of our filmstars. Anyway, to be proud you dont need to make a public display. You can be proud and dignified at the same time."

You know why they go to temple.. when they need something to achieve... not for faith.. understood.. Like Sanjay Dutt who wanted to get free from the sins he committed.. he just wanted to gain some symphothy from hindus...Grow up man

Hi Sai, You missed out the superb performance of Aamir Khan in 1947 Earth. He played Dil Navaz's character to perfection.

Boss Mr sai,
This is an unwanted discussion as far as shahrukh is concerned.i guess these days media is playing this destructive journalism rather than constructive one, else how can you relate instances of muslims being targetted some where to all the muslims,to clarify iam a pakka brahmin from south india and still support muslims coz the problem is not with them but with the media reporting and politics and politicans involved on either side of the spectrum.there are fights happening within hindus in the name of castism and terror has no religion or caste these are mentally ill people who take the name of the religion to coupe their activities.finally please dont write articles like this because as far as my observation goes rediff readers are not asmatured as you think and itgoes into bashing each other.

Let SRK say JAI RAM JI KI and profess his true love to this nation. He keeps saying INSHALLAH all the time and does salam more like Pakistanis do.
Hence SRK's credentials are in doubt.

Why should do all that? Do we Hindus go on chanting JAI RAM JI KI all time?

SRK is a superb actor infact good enough to be in hollywood, and he does need to wear his loyalty on his sleeves.

It is on record he never entertained underworld hoods unlike so many other actors. We are proud of him.

Salaam is not the property of pakistanis. It is the islamic way of greeting. In no way a muslim can associate partners with Allah.

RAM has got nothing to with patriotism. Jai Hind is more appropriate. Why should we force a Muslim to say, Jai Ram Ji Ki ?

There is not place in India for such communal mentality
