I dont think there is something called an "M word" . Please. Its not a forbidden or scray word.I dont think there is a need for a term like that.Call us muslims...we are only proud of it.

Thanks to Saisuresh
by X Lukgud on Aug 31, 2007 12:25 PM

Hi Saisuresh, thanks to your splendid research on the emotions of M. I am sure that you have penned their feelings perfectly as I can understand at times what would they feel when a terrible thing happens in India & some M is blamed for it!! Sad that an individual can only make his neighbourhood better but not the entire country. This character Kabir Khan played by the marvellous King khan has done justice both to his acting career & to the M community. Yes, we are Indians. I do not forget that and I pray that other Indians do not forget that as well, forever. -Sanjeev, Chennai

I coud not agree more.

Very so often, as a Muslim in India and often abroad, I have faced the same dilemma. I have never had to pass any tests of fire, but needless to say, life often presents such moments when I go through my personal hell bearing the cross of being a secular, pluralist, Indian muslim.

SRK reinvents with Chak De
by sanjeev sharma on Aug 29, 2007 03:20 PM  | Hide replies

SRK has really done excellent work in Chak De.
In his previus few movies specially with Karan Johar, he disappointed me with his stereotype boring and repetitive acting.

First time after Swades SRK has come out as outstanding actor justifying his king status. But he should refrain from acting with directors like karan johar and faraha as they only exploit him and do not use his full potential but because of shear mass appeal SRK pulls them out.

The main moto of the movie
by prasun on Aug 23, 2007 11:12 PM

Even After 60 years of freedom we are facing the same debate and same line Hidu, Muslim, Sikh, christian etc. But the main Moto no one will come across, the theme of the movie is if we can be united all we can get is success. Can any country having so many people from different culture be in a same place and progressing so fast. I think the simple answer is no.
Religion is just the thing that gives us strength in ourselves, all others are just a modification of a group of people who try to move the society in a way they think is right and all others like a sheep herd follow, no one takes the move of their own, no one justifies with his own thought.
If we are civilised we should have a control of our own not others, what is right what is wrong should be decided by us not by others. Every being in this world has same right be it a man or a woman.
Can be bring this, the answer is yes, to an extent, how the movie gives us the answer.

Chak de - excellent effort !
by Sudip Sen on Aug 22, 2007 08:47 PM

Hi. Shah Rukh truly did a very good job of it rather than overacting as he mostly does. He should do such roles more often and give measured and realistic performances. I think Swades was equally impressive. Kudos to SRK for delivering such an excellent performance....truly King Khan!
One thing came to my mind reading Saisuresh's article...yes, not only Indian muslims but muslims worldwide have a tough time proving their loyalty these days in the wake of terrorism in the name of Islam !
Another thing which I would like to point out is that Md. Azharuddin never had a tough time proving his loyalty to India on or off the field till the match-fixing scandal. Is it bcoz of the changing times ? Were people more tolerant or trusting in those days ? How come Sachin in 2007 comes in for more flak than Azhar ? Food for thought !

This is one of the best performances i have ever seen from Shahrukh Khan. I was not his big fan but definately he has given good performance in this movie. This movie rocks. Thought provoking and simple movie. It is childish to believe that Muslims like pakistan ! Its attitude that makes them more vulnerable.
