Aamir Khan
by Abhijit Verekar on Aug 13, 2007 09:46 PM  | Hide replies

Aamir Khan has played more than the two muslim roles cited above... he played the candyman in 1947 Earth.... who can forget that! So much for writing about movie personalities Mr. Sivaswamy! Get your facts right!

Why evaluate based on religion?
by Shrujal Vakharia on Aug 13, 2007 09:46 PM

I see no reason for evaluating an "actor" by the kind of "religious" role he/she plays in a movie and what they are in real life. It's a movie and they are actors. It's about their performance and acting skills. Regardless of me agreeing or disagreeing with your view, I think your vision and classification for this is needless and may unecessarily incite others to be judgemental. Nonetheless, I agree that the movie has surpassed expectations and SRK has acted very well. Kudos to Shimit and Jaideep for having directed and written equally well. Hopefully they keep making movies like these that are not overly dramatic and seem realistic and likable. Thank god that they didn't bring any romance into the movie, otherwise not only the movie would have been not as good, but also Shahrukh bashers would miss no opportunity to dismiss his acting skills and demonize him!

Its my religion, and I will propogate it through my films...
by Nimesh Dikshit on Aug 13, 2007 09:43 PM  | Hide replies

In a recent interview on IBN-CNN, this muslims said, "Educated Muslims are THE BEST in the entire world. I am from that block. Its my religion, and I would propogate it through my work in films. I do not what to shove it down your throat, but I want to shove it down your throat this fact (through my films)"

He does not specify what he meant by Educated Muslim? Since as far as I know,

1) Al javahiri ( second man of Al queda ) is a Medical Doctor.

2) Mohammad Atta the mastermind of 9/11 which shook the world, was engineer.

3) Dr Kaneef - The Glasgow airport was a PhD. And other 8 doctors were invloved in that crime.

Oops - which education Shah Rukh was speaking about. I am sure he might not have finished in Commerce or Arts college??? Anyone knows what Shahrukh's Education is?

We should have 50% reservation for that line in India for muslims...

FYI, SRK has a Masters in Economics & used to be a brilliant student. He also got selected for the IIT but didn't join. He's one of the very few sharp guys in Bollywood.

Do you know?
Getting selected for IIT in the master's program is much more easier then in batchlors?
While i was doing my B.S. in Electronics, we had many M.E. Professors from IIT. In my view they were nothing but ordinary vis-a-vis Engineering goes.

But Lets have 50% reservation for Muslims in India. Or better, force every muslims to be economy graduate.

Bharat would be a better place to live in.

Yes, I do know that getting into IIT for masters is much easier than bachelors. FYI, SRK got selected for IIT bachelors but chose economics instead and he didn't get it b'coz he's a muslim. Why are you blaming him for being a muslim? Do you think BJP & RSS leaders are good hindus? They propagate fanaticism too.

Also, did I ask your academic credentials for once? It's like beating your own drum but before you do that check and improve your English first. You must be one of those IT coolies for whom Sharukh bashing has become a common fad.

Did you care to check the credentials of Advani, MM Joshi, Bal Thackeray, Tagodia & Modi (your favorite probably), I am pretty sure none of them are illiterates but they all have done their share of havoc on Indian secular fabric.

Don't speak the language of Western media like a Parrot...they are biased to the very core.

Good point - as a hindu, I am more scared of the "hindutva" preaching goondas than I am of the threat from educated or uneducated Indian muslims. To me, if everyone ought to be Indian first and follow whatever religion they want second.

Now you are blaming me for something i did not speak or did. You blame me for I am preaching Reservation for an acadamic line which Shahrukh Belongs... You blame me b'coz i stated Millitants from the three best considered academic lines in India...
I just wish best to Muslims in Inda by asking for Reservation, don't you see? Where does Advani, MM JOshi, Bal Thackeray Togodia and Modi came in the pitcher? Although if you have better suggestions we can have reservation for them too? Any thoughts?
The problem with you, is you can't even imagine that there is some well wisher for muslims, who may like modis but still root for reservation for you. Whatever it takes, to make you guys better 'H'umans. If reservation then so be it.

Its people like you who create communalism.
O.K., Why dis Yusaf change his name to Dilip if you are so proud of him.
Following your idol, you can change your name to Ram. There were better actors than Dilip Kumar in India. He just was lucky to have a few hits like SRK.
Atta boy Salmaan is different. He is truely secular.

Chakde india is a best quality movie
by Ranveer on Aug 13, 2007 08:56 PM  | Hide replies

No doubt that SRK is a better actor, and probably others could not have performed in the same way. Apart from this, the movie is of a very good quality, Several messages are revealed through this movie. I think every one should watch this and think. Particularly Politicians and higher authorities of india must watch this. Story writer, Producer and Director deserve thanks, and they should make similar kind of boosting movies again and again.

Why are M&M afraid for any debate? Why do they hide and try to shut out others.. Looks like this is refelction of the personality of their religion where an intelligent debate is not allowed. The truth is always declared by the Mullahs or is frozen in a book. Ironically all M&M accept that there is one GOD and nature is its reflection. But they forget that NATURE keeps on changing/evolving on a daily basis and hence the truth also evolves. But for M&M the truth is FOZEN in SOME PAST TIME AS WRITTEN IN A BOOK.

Before being a muslim he is human, and every person should not cage himself into the religion.
We should stand along for a religion called "humanity"
Due to this mentality people will say you dalit.
