This crazy media is just creating a hype ! There is nothing to be jubilant in this marriage. Only people are feeling like "Begaane shaadi mein Abdullah diwana" !

I am an Indian from NY and I am enjoying this glorious marriage. If you dont like it remote is in your hand change the channel. I think you are sick you are worried about indian economy I can bet you dont have basic knowledge of economy. There are various elements that affect economy including a grad wedding. TV channels are covering the wedding because they are getting high TRP and when a channel gets high TRP that channel sells more airtime to the sponsors. And of course when sponsors pay hefty amount they target a boost in their sales. When the overall sales increases the govt get more revenues and it comes back the people. Its a chain and its called marketing force. If you study pyramid of needs you will learn entertainment is also a human need and if people are getting entertained by covering these marriage there is nothing wrong in it. research shows that people who love fun and entertainment are more successful than people who are picky and always bother about rational issues.
So dude your reaction is kinda bullshit.

He will decide where he should live. For all the growth that's happening in India, let's see whether India can sustain the growth. Then we will decide whether we should come back or not. As it is, an indian earning that much will have to pay a heftier sum than that to get a decent home in the IT centers of India. Therefore many people are better off where they are, OK?

RE:Why Rediff does it
by alhad sathe on Apr 19, 2007 12:03 AM
Rahul, are you living in illusionary world? Why there is a big crowd at Pratiksha everyday? Certainly not NRIs. Why there are hundreds of gifts arriving at his house from all across India? Not from NRIs. May be people like you don't comprehend, but Amitabh and Ash are superstars. It has nothing to do with NRIs. If you are bored by this STOP reading and log off from this forum.

Rediff india,
There is nothing more pathetic than stalking two families.... give them a break... Both Abhishek and Aishwarya rai are just plain actors... please donot put them on pedestals... if you are in dearth of topics to write on... here is some food for your thoughts... poverty, electricity shortage and power cuts, unemployment, narmada bachav, terrorism, AIDS, eradication of TB, sanitation and so on... grow up people... Indian press has so much to write on and fight for... India would benefit from so many other articles than knowing what inners Amithabh Bachchan wore for his son's sangeet...

Don't want to be devil's advocate here, but rediff's entertainment section is reporting the wedding, not the main news section. And come to think of it, Ash Abhi wedding is a big news in "entertainment and bollywood" world!
Though rediff and other news portals of India have shown lack of judgment in prioritizing the news event reporting in the past.

Why do you want people should always discuss depressing issues. And most importantly people who talk about these issues dont do anything about it for example politicians. I would advise people first make your career get a great pay package and enjoy life. Poverty is not a matter of discussion its an element which should be eliminated from the society and its possible by one's hard work not by discussion or preaching.

So people dont think about the problems of world you will get nothing out of it just make your life worth living by hard work, commitment to whatever you are doing(of course within ethical boundaries)
I liked Ash-Abhi wedding card I am following this wedding and enjoying it. Let sadist people be upset.
