Salute to Major Manish.
by Mukesh Garg on Apr 19, 2007 12:52 AM  | Hide replies

Major Manish Pitambare, the great son of India, laid down his life while eliminating terrorists in Anantnag(J&K). People came across this news on a foreign news site(bbc), and not on an Indian one. Indian media was too busy with Cricket, Bollywood and Politician's news, and thought this news was not worthy enough. SHAME ON INDIAN MEDIA, which don't know that true heroes like Major Manish Pitambare are the only force that is keeping India and Indians alive. Indian media must stop reporting stupid news and start covering important news like this. Please help me in let them realize this.

If somebody asked Bachan's and Rais to spend money for some charity rather wasting it for celebrations. Atleast some empty bellies would have filled. Big B spoiled his father's name.

There are thousands of weddings taking place in India with even more pomp and luxury. When famous personalities wed it is always public curiosity. This wedding for us Indians is like the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Dina for UK. For that wedding, the whole world paid attention on TV. Can't we at least enjoy this without writing some really nasty comments? Be happy for people then people will be happy for you.

I had considered rediff a good site but lately seen few bad coverages...and it is making impression in my mind that it is not much different than hindi tv new channels like star news, aaj tak, india tv etc.
a good alternative for rediff is http://news.google.com/news?ned=in
try and see the difference.

Mukesh,

We enjoy such stupid news. It lets us post stupid comments. It is entertaining.

If you are so concerned about the situation in J&K, please go there and do something about it.

FYI, the situation in J&K is a sad result of the stupid sentimaentality of a bania like you called M K Gandhi. I know you can't do anything about it now.

Now go back to the BBC website and ponder on the damage you banias have been wreaking on India over the last 60 years!!

Rahul, it was very sad to see your comments. This simply shows the fact that ppl don't see what is right or wrong, but see only that who is saying it. If the same thing would have been written by some 'Mukesh Khanna', your response would have been totally different.
Its this cast based idelogy which is creating havoc on India, and people like you who propagate it and don't want to get rid of it.
Anyway, Major Manish was not from my cast, so you could atleast say few words for him.

Rahul, grow up. Its easy to keep blaming others, but let me ask you this...after 1947, there were ample chances to get rid of Pakistan from Kashmir, but it was not done. M K Gandhi was not alive any more, and none of the Banias was present in Indian politics, then who is responsible for this? Why didn't your community people took a stand to improve the situation at that time? What could I K Gujral do when he became a Prime Minister.
My friend, don't talk like Shias/Sunnis fighting each other. There cud be several -ve things that can be said about any given community, but its better to do something positive then keep rattling.
In your 2nd post also, you didn't pay any tribute to Major Manish.

Rahul, you can only keep rattling and thats all about you. Going by your logic, and so called expensive stuff, is simply giving excuses. Accept it that your community haven't done anything good.
I am a person who do not agree with what Gandhi/Nehru did during 1947. Going by my choice, all Pakis shud have been kicked out of J&K and India shud have taken command there. But, whatever happened, does not mean that it was a fault of any one community. This is one thing that you will not understand. If you could, we would be free from the biggest threat that India is facing today.
Just because Harshad Mehta did a big scam, would you accept that all Punjabis are like him. Or our college principal, (K.K.Mehta), who ate most of college funds...does he proves that all punjabis are like him. I do not agree with these arguments, if you want to you can.

Hey, you are blaming someone saying he started some malpractice which you are following? Why don't your community stop it, instead of propagating it? Moreover, you are spreading castism, the root cause of all evil. Don't blame others, you are doing worse.

It's true that media reports it because we want to read. But it is also the responsibility of the media to drive the nation and the people of the nation towards a bright future providing useful information and most importantly prioritizing it.

Media is a strong force. They play a vital role in shaping the nation and its future. I can bet you that Indian media does not represent the best or not even a better one. I live abroad and depend on websites like rediff to learn about India. As any other Indian living abroad I also need some strong force that can teach me and my kids ( not born and brought up in India) to learn some valuable information about our mother land.

I am not against the media for reporting Ash-Abi marriage but I definitely am against the media for not reporting news like Major Manish Pitambare.

Hope the Indian media realizes their importance and define some standard and quality in what they provide to the public.

And Mr. Rahul
Everyday people die but only a few have the luxuary of being crowned a hero. Just because I am not in J&K dosen't mean that I don't care for them. Remember you have your name as Rahul and you are a hindu only because of great men like Major Manish Pitambare.

Yes you can keep cursing me, it doesn't matter. You traitors have done far worse things to our country!!!

Rahul, there are many ppl including me who do not support Gandhi/Nehru 1947 Kashmir acts. But you are making an entire community responsible for one person's acts....that is kind of thinking which has done most damage to India. So believe me, go and confirm with your teacher about this, people like you are the biggest traitors.

Rahul,
you are a person who do not look at own mistakes, but blame all others for anything that goes wrong. Many ppl in Bania community did their worse, and many did good.
Same thing with Punjabis is true. So, whats the point in talking about communities ... in today's world we talk about individuals.
Think something better.

Rahul, I want to let you know that I do not support the wrong doings of people who belong to Bania community. If I have the power to take decision, then I will hang each and every one of them. But believe me, if it is done, I know many bad banias will be hanged, and so will happen to many punjabis as well. As far as doing business is concerned, its not only Banias who do business. So, you check it who all are doing business with Pak.
I believe that lots of ppl from various communities made mistakes on J&K as well as other issues in India. Banias were definitely part of those wrong-doing ppl, and I will vote for the worst to be done to those Banias. My only request to you is, do not think everyone is same if he belongs to a particular community. Even after seeing so many corrupt and dishoonest punjabis, I will never say that all punjabis are like that. Now its upto you how you want to see the world. Otherwise, on one issue or another, you will keep blaming entire communities.
Hope you get a good sleep and a better talking sense.

people may have so much money to travel in cars and planes and even give for security, also more for jewellery, but when it comes to clothing, suddenly things may appear too precious which even superstars the world over cannot afford on a special occasion. They may need to go to deaddiction centers ... the list is endless , isnt it?

Since you know it, why don't you start loudspeaking the news your way at a railway station to start with. Who knows, you can become famous. Those who want will read about Ash and AB and those who like your views will come to the station to listen to you.

Your attitude is that of a dog in the hay. The dog does not eat the hay and barks when the cattle comes to eat it. Poor Poor Poor Mr Sushant Kudle. ( By the way, since you sound non-filmy, Poor Poor Poor was a dialogue made famous by Helen when she tells Shammi Kapoor not to go outside the hotel so that he does not get into trouble. This was in a movie called Teesri Manzil )

And you are good at contradicting yourself too. If all others are wasing time, what the hell are you doing by writing about it, Haan? At least they are wasting time on something they like. Look at you. You waste time on something that you don't even like.

Only thing I can say is good luck to you with changing your attitude so that you know how to respect others.

Cheers and best of luck

I am an Indian from NY and I am enjoying this glorious marriage. If you dont like it remote is in your hand change the channel. I think you are sick you are worried about indian economy I can bet you dont have basic knowledge of economy. There are various elements that affect economy including a grad wedding. TV channels are covering the wedding because they are getting high TRP and when a channel gets high TRP that channel sells more airtime to the sponsors. And of course when sponsors pay hefty amount they target a boost in their sales. When the overall sales increases the govt get more revenues and it comes back the people. Its a chain and its called marketing force. If you study pyramid of needs you will learn entertainment is also a human need and if people are getting entertained by covering these marriage there is nothing wrong in it. research shows that people who love fun and entertainment are more successful than people who are picky and always bother about rational issues.
So dude your reaction is kinda bullshit.

As it is, an indian earning that much will have to pay a heftier sum than that to get a decent home in the IT centers of India. Therefore many people are better off where they are, OK?
