Yes...This is a triumph of good, honest and brave cinema...I hope that atleast now all the karan johars, sooraj bharjatyas come out of their closets and show they too can make different movies
While its pretty nice to see Rang De heading for Oscars, at the same time it looks a little wierd to find no entries from other regional languages (barring Amma Cheppindi and Bhoot). Looks like regional producers have decided that they cannot tackle the bias towards the bollywood cinema. Come on one just cannot imagine seeing Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna in the probables. Indian cinema is not just hindi/bollywood movies, there certainly is a lot more to it.
RDB is a movie which has a message..and it sends it across in a beautiful way. RDB made the fun loving audience come watch it..and it spread its message..It generated a DEAD feeling of PATRIOTISM in the minds of the people who have the means to think beyond their own needs. most of the urban 20 odd year folks dun even realise that they are being kept away from the truth .. a lot of ppl are not even aware of what is actually happenin with the MIGs .. ITS NOT THE PILOTs` faults..and more ppl are aware of it today than ever were..and its not the MIGs and their brave pilots , there are many a things which people are not aware of..and if a few thousand people in a city start protesting..IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE>> remember RESERVATION QUOTA rallies? jessica lal?
RDB was undoubtedly the best film of the year.. nd it truely awakened the generation... It rocked.. I m very optimistic tht Aamir won't miss it this time... All the best 2 the team...
Though In My Personal View Munna bhai was much better choice than RDB. There were certaik differences and similarities between Munna bhai and RDB. Both Film focussed on Our Historion Heroes Gandhiji and Bhagat singh. Both Impacted very high on todays Gen X In India. While Munna bhai focused on non violence and RDB indirectly showed power impact of Young India. Best Of Luck To RDB For Oscars.
