firstly i congratulating to crews of rangde basant.especially Amir Khan and AR Rehman.the decision of selection committee good.rang de has right to get oscar.
Yes ! it had to be because Amir is acting as a Govt stooge. He is only involved in cases which portray opposition BJP in poor light and thats suits congress' interest the best.Hence the rewards showered on him , first made RDB tax free and now official entry to Oscar. Otherwise RDB is just an average movie! its fate will be same as Paheli
RDB is a deserving candidate for the Oscars. It is in a league of its own. With a fabulous mix of the past and present, this movie presents an extraordinary array of circumstances and the way the characters in the movie deal with it. Though many people were not content with the climax of the movie - the minister being killed and the police killing DJ & group, I feel the movie justifies for itself the message it wants to convey. India being a country cursed by low and high level corruption - anything can happen, and really anything. The media will remember it for a few days and another terrorist attack will takeover the show and everyone would forget it.
Not only the story or the acting but the way in which the movie is made (on the technical side) will be a very strong advantage for the film makers to be on top of the list for the oscars.
What a joke ! AK & Rang di Basaanti heading for Oscar, really ??!! Why doesnt Indian filmdom look into the mirror of international celluloid and ask what have they got besides plagiarised plots and asinine aspirations ?
We are light years behind the likes of TITANIC or MILLION DOLLAR BABY in every department of production, to say the least, need i say more ?
I am truly delighted after a long time by the decision of the jury to send 'Rang De Basanti' as the film to represent India for the Best Foreign Film category at the oscars.
For once our panelists got it right because this file truly represents the present emotions of our nation.
This film has everthing that a viewer could wish for along a moral and decisive action plan.
If this film isn't awarded the Oscar then the Oscar panelists have themselves to blame and need to do a re-think upon their thought process.
It's their loss not ours cause films like these are made once in a blue moon and they stand tall forever
I am shocked by teh choice! There are many good movies and made many languages. Rang...de is a fatalistic movie and proves nothing. It is one of the worst movies I have seen in my life. This is bound to fail.
India should learn to do better in selecting entries.
