Jaaneman is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I saw Don the same day and while I liked it I preferred Jaaneman because it's simply beautiful. The music, the picturisations, the over-the-top characterisations. Everything makes its point and does it well.
Oh yeah, and though I'm a SRK fan I hated Main Hoon Na. Which world is this reviewer from?!?
Jaaneman is an excellent movie .The comedy is something like andaz apna apna .I really enjoyed the movie.Excellent direction by Shirish Kundar (shirish is really talented The film was writen directed and edited by him.Excellent effect by prime focus .
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON DON GO FOR JAANEMAN its worth the money.
Either you don't know what phase the indian cinema is going trhough or you were just expecting just another song+romance+jokular comedy ...that is a regular "Bollywood" flick. Which BTW American indians expects.
Mind you this film has tried something that was new and brilliantm it is called "visual comedy". And i think you are pretty novice to that concept also so let me explain.I think Jaane-e-man's comedy doesn't rest on "little" kher jokes it rests on the Intellectual humour like the flash back scene etc.
Second most beatiful thing about the film is its beautiful frames. They are so brightly lit up and full of beauuuuuuuuuutiful colors. I say that i have not seen such a lovely piece of cinematography after "BLACK".
Thirdly, i don't know whether you are a member of Theatres and drama but this film is one of the few films which applies te basic techniques used in theatres. In any play the stage light varies according to the mood of the protagonist and same was happening there only if you have observed it closely.
I agree the film can be described as a one line expanded over 3 hrs, But if you are really a lover for good cinema the movie is a must watch.
It comes as a refreshment different from the usual dead comedy, the way movie has been presented is awesome, also it was nice to see some good acting coming from salman after a long time. worth a watch.
