SRk is good for nothing....he is proclaimed superstar...why he wants to make his point as good actor...and how can he ever think of potraiting DON: Mr.Bacchan. Don't compare SRk with any other good actor...he is nuts..and for GOD sake stop writing about him..he is not a great actor at all....
Since being presently out of the country, could not see the new DON and regretably havn't seen the old one either.
But what I wanted to say is that after reading the rediff review I am utterly confused about what to get from it and really doubt the review person has see seen the movies either.
Now, in Bollywood attempt is afoot by and at the instance of some fools and idiots to glorify someone (who can hardly be graded as a `good actor') over Amitabh Bachchan, who is undoubtedly the greatest of all the great actors in the world of all time. Some people running the media circus, for the reasons best known to them (must be economic) are simply pampering some c-grade actors to compare their acting skill with that of Big B, which is ridiculous. SRK is made hero by the Media and not because of his acting skill. Govinda, Amir, Akshaya are much much better actors than SRK. Anyway it is media-raj, and if desired by them, even a heinous rapist-cum-murderer or a terrorist, who has taken lives of hundreds of innocent people, can be national hero.
The film is sleek and fast. Farhan being an intelligent director has quite skillfully contextualized the Don drama in 2006. The chase scene is one of the best I've watched in Hindi films. The song and dance numbers are too good and both Priyanka and SRK dazzle.For me its Priyanka who we should watch out in the years to come. She is becoming more matured as an actress.
I was surprised .. I got tickets for a Sunday show .. for DON .. in the opening week .. and didn't get tickets for Lage Raho Munnabhai ... I guess that says it all ;-)
If you view this version as a standalone .. its just about passable .. in the slick genre of Kaante, Dus, Dhoom, etc .. but if you compare it with the original .. boy, this one's wayyy below any entertainment value ..
I would like to share some facts about the new don
1) Its a good entertainer movie in all aspects
2) Do not expect exact Don story / acting etc like the original , its different and the story is complex but then thats what will keep you gusessing and interested, Just imagine Farhan making the movie exactly the same way as original , the only difference being the SRK in and AB out ? Would we have liked the film ? NEVER !!Sometimes the movie tries to do a bit more than required but still its a good time pass movie with an international feel. Feels like it will be a hit and a good grosser at the Box office.
3) As of rediff's reviews , i tell them all their reviews have been Nothing less than CRAP. I seriously think its time they changed their reviwers and film critics who don not have any analysing skills or imagination.
4)Guys and Gals !! watch don and have fun , Its really worth watching once and you can easily give it 3 stars as per rediff rating
Well, i guess if anyone makes a judgement on DON, based on Mr.Raja's review, he/she is gonna miss out on one of the most well-made movies of our time..Yes!!!I'm not exaggerating a wee-bit..!!!DON is a classic thriller..and its a must see.I guess where Raja has missed the plot in this review is that he has not reviewed DON,2006..he has only tired to compare it with its original,made about 30 yrs ago..!!!lemme tell u one thing guys,u just cant make a comparison like this..!!!Both the movies are made in different eras..and both are classics..But I would just add that the plot & story of DON,2006 is much much better and thrilling than the original version.Farhan Akhtar has made a fast,crisp & stylish thriller which I would say is made for the first time in the Indian Movie Industry.Shahrukh is at his best and the other characters are ably enacted by the chosen actors.The background score of the movie is really rocking...!!!All in all..DON is a film to be seen in the theatres..so get hold of ur ticket ASAP pals..dont miss this amazing movie-ride..!!!
Its my personal request to Both Raja Sen and Sukanya Verma to first understand and get knowledge about movies.They both are not able to digest that how can one try to make a claasic in their own way.In both they have not mentioned the best part where really the whole movie takes a twist. Guys dont belive the review ,its a good movie. Very sad ,BOOOO.......redifffmail.
