I guess ppl are just over fazed by the Big B and would never accept anything or any person can be better or even equal to him...I think we need to appreciate farhan and SRK for the movie...both have done an awesome job..
Inspite of the fact that its the same story remade in a better and modern envoironment farhan adds the requisite twists in the story to make u hold on to the edge of ur seats and leave content after the movie. I do accept that there r some flaws in the movie like the role played by Arjun Rampal..but bearing those few errors it is a wonderful movie...and whether some1 accepts or not SRK as DON..in the negative shade in much better than ne other actor..surely even better than the Big B. The Big B's negative character in the old DON was more serious and SRK was more villainous...SRK doesnt try to copy the Big B but tries giving it the best and thats whats required.
What I'd say is here's a movie which is well made and well acted...and if ne1 sees it being unbiased...he/she is bound to like it
Raja Sen - a Big Name, when it comes to movie reviews.a Big Name, the Name i trusted.a Person whom I though would be unbiased while writing the reviews.a name now who is critically biased by the perfection,he WANTS to achieve,by predicting the probability of a box office HIT.Now a person who needs a complete revival of attitude!!! Tell me Mr. Sen...How would you have judged the movie had Shahrukh's Don been the first DON?How would you have judged this movie if you hadn't seen the incomparable Amitabh as the incomparable DON? May I ask how your use of words would have been different?
Supporting cast was very poor, Dull and outdated, No one leave a good impression. 'DON'S' (Original) Narang was very strong and loving character, Kareena was very conservative (By the way who was her dress disigner !!!!), Halen done a role for year 2025, kamini's role was very powerfull in 'DON', waste in 'don' (Farhan's don). Mallika sherawat would be good choice. Storyline was very slow and confusing, it was looking like 1950's movie. Shahrukh did not justify Amitabh's role, Shahrukh was looking confused, probably because Director was very confused. Abhishek would be good choice for this role, i am sure people would have loved Abi in 'don'. I knew that Farhan's 'don' can never be better then with 'DON' but as a director he did a really lousy job and completely disappoints his fans, Farhan need to give a good movie to get his fan's confidence back.
Advice - Movie is just not about 'super star', don't underestimate supporting cast.
Apart from a few good scenes (flicked from English movies) and Priyanka Chopra, this has nothing to offer. SRK maybe a superstar, but not a superactor. farhan dissappointed us. This movie is trying to bank on the shock value, twists (which makes the plot meaningless), and the success of the original.
Farhan please dont feel disheartened. We rather than I really think you have done an extremely good job of making this movie. I am a teenager and I would not be able to watch the old Don as I would find it boring and unsophisticated. But you have presented the film with great finesse. This attempt was really impeccable. People may point many a fingers but please remember SRK that your fans love you whatever you do which is always so great and plausible.
Why compare? Why not look at it as an independent film? It is much better than the trash being served as films nowadays. As for the twists, well, I will definitely await the sequel.
First of all , Don is a well made movie . The fact that people didnt like it is because they didnt like the fact Shahrukh khan was going a remake of Amitabh . The movie is really enjoyable . More than 75% of the younger generation didnt know about original don and they have loved the new one . I aint shahrukh khan fan but i have to say that he did his job really well . I think don is going to be another big hit of the year becoz the mixed reviews are going to be in their favour as people will rush to see the movie out of curiosity . It is fantasticly made movie and both Don movies were good . I think Don is a must watch for srk fans and Should-be-seen for rest.
Totally illogical, confusing screenplay, making Malaysian Cops as puppets. If want to have an experience of a typical Don movie pls watch "City of God".
