dear mr Ammir khan,
I have seen most of your latest movies like lagaan, Mangal pandey, and Raang de pasanthy.
Ifyour are going for a new project ihave a suggesstion make a movie about the Indian soldiers who died in El Alamin for their English Sahib while defending the Desert Fox Rommel.
i assure you you will get an entry or even get a final entry to the Oscars if you make this movie. Try to recruit all the indian s from the variopus part of the country for these charactors Alzo introduce all the indian culture food habits , which is to be included.

I do not know whether you will get this letter
If received take it up and make your own suggession
Regards Krishna

does it matter

Whatever Amir Khar has said is perfectly right, Media has been obsessed with sensationalism with unworthy cases like Kasliwal, Dress malfunction at LFW, to some extent importance to Meher Bhargava's killers...this is ridiculous, the media is not police..and I think they are seriously interfering in Police jobs...again most of these stories are forgotten quickly..like Meher case is fresh so forget about jessica now

Aamir Khan Rips the media apart

I agree with Aamir's views abour all medias. Today India media personnel are going to any extent to exploit anything to just sell their name. True Indian stories are left as just small headlines whereas stories such as Aamir's second marriage are sold as National News!!! This is absolutely rediculous. Well done Aamir.

Bang on

Amir has hit bulls eye. He expressed so articulately wht everyone of us feels about the current state of affairs in mainstream media. When he say he watches DD news for its news like treatment of news, one shares hsi sentiment fully. News off late has taken the form of Drama with all those silly graphics, background music etc.
Hats off Amir for calling a spade a spade, so articulately.

Excerpts:
The media\'s defence is that it is catering to readership taste. Do you think that\'s true or is there a disjunct?

You know the press has often asked me - and it often asks other filmmakers - why do you make junk? These absurd over-the-top films where you exploit action or sex? Why do filmmakers indulge in trashy films, so what if they cater to the base needs of certain sections of the audience but there should be some restraint shown. See filmmakers are still entertaining (laughs), the press has got a much more responsible job. Some restraint you have to show, boss. Yes, human beings have all kinds of needs. I can name another ten you can cater to - you want to do that? Are you a newspaper? Or stop calling yourself a newspaper. Stop calling yourself a news channel....

what amir khan feels about media is true..
by Mohini Chaudhary on Apr 01, 2006 11:41 AM

Like Amir Khan, it has been an growing concern of all erudite readers about the declining quality of content in the mainstream media. Going by the coverage that is given to fashion shows and page 3 parties, one would think india has nothing else but tailors and socialites residing in it....journalists in india today lack the analytical bend ..they go for the superflous fluff of "breaking news" and never in research mode for the background of these news...its sad because india always had a tradition of very vocal media..with its newspapers carrying a torch for oppressed millions in the country...it was a flame of newspapers that lit the torch of our freedom struggle and now it has whittled down to being a mere candle on show in page 3 parties...
I feel that like UK, there needs to be a law for accountablility of media over the quality of content..and it certainly wouldnt harm our journalists to learn a thing or two from thier counterparts in bbc or channel 4..

I am very much convinced what Aamir has said about media .They are a very important organ of democracy but it seems they are also like politicians have lost their duties and spirit. They think they make and break Heros .This is their attitude.Media shoud brought those issues which affects common man not few people. No matter if Priyanka not agreeing to work with Akshaya Khanna will not come to peoples knowledge but if CPI will join hands with Terrorists in Kerala is definitely a matter should brought up to masses.

Problem is like politics, entering field of jounalism has become v easy. Unqualified guys are moving into this field and write what they personally feel about sensitive issues. It has to be stopped.
