The details regarding the black buck are sketchy, This animal is found mainly in the desert areas of india. It once roamed in the plains of the entire country before it was hunted down. It is still found in pockets of the entire country, incl south india. The male is born fawn coloured, on maturity, It becomes black. The legs and the under belly remain white. It is one of the most beautiful and elegent animals in the country. The animal is still found in plenty in rajhastan.

Salman Khan's jail term
by Preeti Misra on Feb 18, 2006 09:57 AM

I'm happy as Salman got punishment for killing innocent animals. Why shud we compare Salman with other criminals? A criminal is a criminal no matter who he is.. hats off to the judge who made this bold and rational decision..

Salman Khan's Sentence
by Ardamun Ramdeva on Feb 18, 2006 09:11 AM

I do hope we Indians make up our minds. What do we actually want? If a high profile politian or some one similar gets let off, we cry ourselves hoarse say he got away because of his 'clout'. Today, we are speaking from the other side of our mouths!

1.Salman is a high profile actor, so what?
2.He killed the Balchbucks and MUST pay for it.
3.Whether he supports any number of charities or not has no bearing on the case.
4.His film produces are making noise because it will affect their movies and investments. NOT OUT OF CHARITY FOR SALMAN KHAN!!

The courts have found him guilty and he must pay the price. I think, he is lucky to have got away 'cheaply' just because of his high profile.

Atlast it is a good ending
by Neel on Feb 18, 2006 09:07 AM  | Hide replies

I am happy that atlast some one can talk against and give verdict on a rich and famous, who is found guilty.
Why others are were not punished should not be our concern. We should feel happy that atleast one could be nailed down.
Still he may get away from some other court??????
Finally our justice system had been bending to the need of rich and famous on almost all times..

Nimish,

If one person cannot lead his life peacefully, it is his own misdemonear, no one can be held responsible. Dont you understand y no one in the so called filmi industry is supporting, cause everybody feels he did a crime. just put ur crap off, and think wise. May be he is sad about his private life, but should the law care about it, he had done a crime, and he should be punished. thats it.

dear all,

i am shocked at this verdict first of all i feel there is no truth to this and where is the film industry when salman needs their help i have always noticed salman stands tall for all and one in the industry why is it that when salman needs their attention they are missing?

i alsofeel that our government is pleading with other countries to release our nationls who have been convicted for crimes of mudering people does not the government have some power to relese this human being of all the torture he is going through at one go i feel the entire film industry shuld unite and put forth this proposal so the superstar can settle down peacefully and entertain public as he has being doing for dokey years.

please understand his plight he is 40 plus and has not settled down in his private life i can fuly understand his agony and plight i request one and all to support him.

i wish to see salman settled and enjoy the fruits of his life the same way millions of us enjoy the fruits of his entertainment.

i sinceerly wish all his cases are closed and finished and he settles down peacefully into super stardom.

i am with you salman.

best wishes
nimish

salman khan

I completely agree with you.
All these people who comment against him, dont they even know how good a person he is? maybe at that time he didn't know that black buck is an endangered specie. moreover, the incident involving the drunken driving, we know that drunken driving is a crime allright, but did he run the car over those people just for fun? or did he have a grudge against them? how many of us drive while being drunk? dont we break rules? dont we bribe a traffic constable just because we are getting late for office? by doing all this aren't we contributing towards the corruption which hollows the nation? and all those other people who were involved in the black buck case, where are they?
why aren't they being caught? Friends, there are more serious issues in the country, like the riots which occur from time to time, like the godhra train incident or the gujarat riots, why aren't the criminals being caught, just because they come from influential political parties? why are they hailed as heroes? I think making an issue of poor guys like salman gives pleasure to the people.my friends Comments can be made easily. but cannot be implemented with the same ease.

I agree that he being a celebrity ,matter has got more attention in the media .. but it has to start some where to put an end to over complesence over such matters of breaking law at small or big level and most importantly law is equal for all convicts.

On Salman: He should be punished
by Himanshu Agarwal on Feb 18, 2006 05:46 AM

Its not the only time he is caught. May be others have also done the same crime but this cannot an excuse in favour of Salman Khan. Any one not obeying the law and not respecting the lives if caught should be punished and I mean ANY one.
