Our society is not ready to accept a movie based on Lolita. The society is not mature enough. The novel is great because of its prose. Lolita is NOT a love story, it's a story of lust and paedophilia. In our country where a large number of (crazy) people like to imitate the performances of their screen-gods, Amittabhji should refuse to do such a role. Acting is an expression but all expressions must draw a line somewhere. Amitabhji did a Sharabi when he was quite young. Though the message of the movie was that Sharaab (alcohol) is bad, it did inspire street drunkards to drink more and justify it somewhere deep inside. Well, at that time he was young. Now I expect him to exhibit the social responsibility that one can expect from a 60 year old great actor. I understand that in an ideal society he should be able to act the role he wants to and no matter whether it is positive or negative, people would call it good acting or bad acting and that's it. But in a society like ours where a small percentage (a large number) of people like to simply imitate what goes on the big screen, it's a wise thing not to make such a movie or to act in such a movie. Sensor board should know more.

If the film is shooted nicely without vulgarity then as an actor there is nothing wrong in accepting such an chanllenging roles.
And hey! one side audience are said to be mature by critics - by acceptance of the films like Murder, Julie etc. etc... then audience is also mature enough to get the actor in such an chanllenging role & GODly image will always has the pious touch to the things he will do.

as for me it will be a shocking decesion for the person who is repeted by the whole nation and also because he is not just a actor but almost a idel for whole country and that type of roll is not meant for him ,maybe his son abhi will shoot to that role more batter then him
