of course he can.it is not the matter whether he can do it or not.actually this question should not arise.the actor has always been looking for challenging and different roles.as far the people accepting him in this role,i think they have always accepted great actors in good roles be it negative or positive like don,darr etc. and the name is too huge to be bogged down by any kind of role.accept it or not big B is always bigger than the role.can't compare him with jeremy irons.
I am a hard core fan of amitabh and I cant not recall a movie which I missed from Sat Hindustani until Black. He is a phenominacal actor and attained massive popularity around the world. and That is not all , he also commands a high respect and people see him and listen to him with great respect.
The news that Amitabh play a paedophile in forth coming Nishabd based on Lolita is really shocking!! Though I am living in much open society in UK since last few years, I am sure people here also will not be able to see Amitabh wooing a girl of 18. How can I see Amitabh of Don, Sholay, Deevar , Silsila, Kabhi Kabhi, Trishul .... doing lolita stuff!! I have almost grown up watching his movies and I still find time watch only Amitabh starrer Bollywood.

yes amitabh can do lolitha coz he is an versatile actor who will excel himself in almost any role he's offered. there's no matter in amitabh doing this role , as this is an reality of life , human mind mould's itself as per social situation .in india itself, in ancient times there were several occasions in which diferent types of relationships being maintained as NEED of time . draupadi marrying five real brothers & all these brothers are always regarded as idol's of SATYA .these brother's also had very close relationship between themselves. in MAHABHARATA we come across several relationship's which happen to be manintained as ESSENCE & NEED of time. now amitabh is ACTING in a film ,which will have no effect on his image also because now we are living in a world which THINK & REASON OUT .it is also not at all astonishing to see these type of character's in real life.
Yes and only he can do it.coz whatever he does u can't even think of anyone eles.Now thats charishmatic power of BIG B. Whatever he does it has to be BIG.
Ofcourse he will do an excellent job.And he will be living the dreams of many a person,I am sure. Strangely i am exactly AB's age,have a beard like him,(I have it for 35 years'now)and I AM in love with a lady 36 years my junior.Viva AB.I dont see many movies,but I will wait to see this one !!!
I definitely think that Bachchan Sr. can do the role perfectly. I feel that indian audiences should get a wide variety of subjects in cinema and not the usual dim-witted stuff that plagues hindi films especially. Secondly, i wouldnt say that only Amitabh can do it...so can any other ace actor like Kamal, Mammootty, Naseeruddin shah, Mohan Lal etc who i would say are better than the big B in terms of what they have presented on screen so far.

What!! You name these actors better than the great amitabh ..Well it better be your opinion ,They are actors in different league..AB if class apart.Its blasphemy to compare him with any actor..sp please forbid doing that
He has to do the films according to his age,than only public will except him because everybody love him so much so that he souldnot hurt them. that is very necessary.
