I agree with the list of Mr ghai but I guess Kuch Kuch Hota Hai isnt the best and shouldnt be in the list. There is nothing special abt KKHH as it was big hit just b'coz of the cast, If u go this then there are lot and list is endless. The rest of selection is very good.
Please do not equate Indian Films to just Hindi films. That's a blunder. Most of the films mentioned above (by Subhash Gahi) would be listed if one took movies from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali etc into consideration.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, a top film?!?!?!?!?!? You got to be kidding Mr. Subhash Ghai.
And you rediff guys should not hurt others sentiments by doing the same.........trying to equate Indian Films to just Hindi films.
Ghai saabs list was the biggest joke...and was worth putting in the jokes session of rediff.com.There were enuf crap movies in the list which wont make it even to the top 10 hinidi movies...leave alone indian movies.
Ghai's lacunae that hindi movies = indian movies are proved here and so r his narrow minded n jingoistic views of movies from other languages.
I think even none of the 10 movies he listed were equal to any one of maniratnam's movies which were not listed by times like "roja" or "anjai" or "thalapathi"
While Ghai includes true classics like Dosti, Pyaasa and Kaagaz ke phool, WHY did he include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and worst of all Taal? Isnt it an insult to the great movies preceeding the list? And why hasnt he included Maniratnam's films like Nayakan which even Time magazine listed in its list. Would he not have watched even one of Maniratnams movies? If he wants to glorify his own work let him do - but not at the cost of naming one of India's best films. Nonsense !!!
Mr. ghai choice is good but i want to tell that he had not mention two greatest film of bollywood. The films are 1)Mugal-e-azam 2)Dilwale dulhania le jayenge.
one thing more we can't estimate Taal as in top ten.
