I wud prefer Paheli, atleast its a colorful folk tale with good performances, Black and Veer Zara were two hits that banked on the emotion and drama craving indian audience (plus amitabh in hyer mode at places). Paheli has a colorful and distinct Rajasthani (read Indian) flavour to it with a superb finish by bachhan and a folk tale narrative which might very well go with an International audience.
Movies like Paheli and Veer Zaara appeal only to Indian audiences.Paheli is imaginative in terms of a novel,but as a movie,it totally flops.The movie loses the plot and it is hardly gripping,except for the exquisite sets and colours.
Coming to Veer Zaara,it is a typical bollywood affair again.None of the movies deserve a Golden Globe by any chance,not even as nominees,but if it does win,then good for all of us.
I am so happy that no manipulation from our side lead to these nominations.I like Black the best!I wish best of luck to every one assosciated with the movie.
I think not all of them. In my view, the bollywood flick 'Black' goes a long way in acheiving that. Paheli and Veer Zaar are far more influencing as any ordinary commecial movie. The performances, the story line, the concept are very efficient and innovative in Black.
definitely Black deserves appreciation for quality of work, it has produced. Rani and Amitabh ji has done marvelous work in this film. Sometimes, Rani ssems to overact but it is minor in comparison to the challenging role in the film she is performing. Abitabh has done a life time performance. It is more chaalenging to be a tutor of such physically challenged desciple.
Probably I should first congratulate Rani Mukherjee for being a part of all the 3 movies nominated for the globes. It's a big achievement, though i think none of them deserved to be nominated! Are there only Hindi movies that find nominations? Aren't Tamil, Telegu orMalayalam movies good enuff? Paheli & Veer Zara are absolute rubbish nominations. They don't even deserve national or filmfare awards. It was shocking to know that Paheli made it to the Oscars. I am ok with Black for the Globes, and moreover cause i think Ayesha Kapur and Amitabh deserve international recognition. One movie atleast from bollywood which i would have preferred being nominated for the Globes and Oscards is `Swades'. What was so not indian about it that Paheli stands out in front of Swades, someone please make me understand. A real down to earth shah rukh khan performance, a magnificent script and superb direction `Swades' was a good choice... Maybe someone pulled the strings against Mr. Gowariker. Somone is J out there. Well as for the Globes hope Black weaves it's Magic!! That's all we can hope for. Paheli & Veer Zara please excuse.
