the film is best in sowing the present ficle state of sudents.
in this movie how the girls go crazy & so easily they become victims of love.
by the time they realise they have lost evety thing.

the ohter part is shows determination to revolutionise
the system.
hte other part is patriatism , for a good purpose
he sacrifices going abroad.

only thing is after interval we get bored for a while
but it seems to be neccessary when think deeply.

Yuva is a good movie
by Nikhil on Jun 07, 2004 01:03 PM

As the audiences are used to watch the Karan Johar/Shahrukh type movies, they have lost the taste for good movies.Mani Rathnam is in a class of his own.

Mani great in Yuva
by karthik on Jun 06, 2004 06:27 AM

Hi to all reader's

People when go for Mani's movie think a repeat like ROJA,BOMBAY etc.
But, when most of them do not understand that line up of each movie that Mani does is different and cannot produce the same movie concept.
Yuva was a nice movie and I donot find any problem in those.

Mani you are a great director. Thanks for making me sit in theater for 3 full hours.

appreciate good cinema, dont trash it!
by Sonali on Jun 05, 2004 10:52 AM

Yuva is one of the better films to have hit the screens this summer. The idealism portrayed in large doses though seemed a tad unrealistic at times, it made u want to believe that maybe, just maybe, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The performances did speak for themselves.
But probably it is the kind of movie which doesnt work for audiences more often than not thriving on candy-floss films and its ilk! The discerning viewer is able to judge for himself/herself. As for commenting on the creative abilities of the loftily perched erudite species that goes by the name of critics, i'm too mere a mortal to utter any word.

Lallan is the star of the year
by Vivek Singh on Jun 05, 2004 03:46 AM

If there are any two words that can describe 'Yuva' then they are 'exceptionally brilliant'. It is a brilliant pieceof direction and story telling by Mani.

All characters in the film deserve applause for executing their parts very well. Ajai, Vivek, Kareena, Rani and all others have performed brilliantly and have risen to the occasion.
Once performance which is etched in my memory is that of Abhishek Bacchhan. He is simply brilliant in Lallan's role. You feel sorry, sad, angry for Lallan and Abhishek just rolls in the mould of the character. This performance deserves an applause.

Sreenplay, cinematography, music and the flow of the movie is simply brilliant.Every character has contributed with their share and the the story keeps you glued.
Mani Sir, hats off to you and your way of direction. The story has a beautiful message attached to it and makes you think. It is intellectually stimulating for the younger generation. It gives us an innate sense of responsibility towards the country and at the same time makes you realize how the youth can change India's destiny.
This movie has the stamp of brilliance and has shown a different Abhishek. Lallan is the star of the year.
