Fares not raised
by bakchod on Apr 23, 2018 12:41 PM

You forget that rail fares for non-AC classes have not been raised in nearly 10-15 years! If they do, then people like you will start crying rivers of tears. Railways is still far cheaper and more comfortable than any other mode of transport in non_AC classes.

This is an excellent piece and Piyush Goel should feel ashamed when 60% of fare goes to staff. Shame on RAILWAYS. Immediately, retrench 50% staff or reduce retirement age to 55 and no further recruitment. YOU DON'T HAVE GUTS FOR EITHER.

I didn't know all the previous governments did not spent money on staffs.. Now that Piyush Goel should be ashamed as they are trying to revamp railways and make them clean . Do you know how many middle class employees will be affected if retirement age is reduced to 55.

These practices are followed by any monopoly, in the name of giving free direction Google steals all your information including access to mobile camera. Do you want similar fashioni with Railway services?? It will die its own death due to malpractices like Air India. Very rarely you can see a car user switch to train unless totally planned 10 month in advance you cant travel by train...it is only the low class and Agents that is running this show which will burst on its own.

Railways fooling Indians
by Tarsem Singh on Apr 23, 2018 12:07 PM

You might be right that Railways are fooling Indians in spite of fact that It is still the cheapest source of transport. Indian citizens too have a responsibility towards nation. Why cannot we free loaders bring down our family size & help nation improve it. Buses through with no monopoly still remains one of the expensive mean of transport.

Rly pays 27% of its revenue in pension, similar is situation in each govt. deptt, financial position of the country is bankrupt due to DA linked perqs. and pension of all govt. servants and politicians. Each each they need bumper money to feed this increased expenditure. As such new new taxes are levied at the cost of poor, growth and infra structural development,
When this correction will be taken.

Sir, Giving Pension is not a burden to the Govt - as every employee during his tenure of working say about 35 years have been paying from his salary towards pension funds. In the event of death of a pensioner the govt is not returning the accumulated amount deducted from the salary every month. Govt may lose money on the pensioner who lives more above average life expectation.
