Congratulations to Tejas Team. It is time to develop indigenously aircraft engines which may be even improved versions of GEC and Royals Roy's engines. Similarly the team HAl should also work for indigenous and improved version of wire by line technology. There should also be concerted effort to have India's own aircraft design software. It is high time that our software companies which concentrate on business management software packages should enter the field of developing engineering software packages for various industries. Mr Moorthy and Prem Ji and Tats should sit tgogether to seed this new revolution in area of engineering software maeket space.
Its good news fr the patriots !n our armed forces . but sad news for people getting kick backs! once we start own production ...hw the kick backs take place ????? Above all ....its a pride for the countrymen and the people involved in this project. Lets tell the world ..we are not less than anyone in self reliance !!
This is withgout any prejudice to our Brilli ant Scientists and Technologists working in our various Research Laboratories.LCA Tejas is indegenous to the extent of 80% excepting its engines. But Aero Ngine is the heart of the matter without which our Tejas would be a ratt ling metal trap finding it difficult even to crawl along the ground. Our Technologists and Scientists continue the work developing Kaveri Engine and till its successful completion,we are at the mercy of GE,Rolls Royce or Plat and Whitny.Besides,we have not been able to crack the code of Cryogenic Fuel andMicroChips.Hence it is a long way to go before reaching the leve ls of MIT and Bells Laboratories of USA.
Off course the Tejas is not a world beater, but its not bad for a first attempt. This is better than anything the 'great' chinese have done and also the pakis who are not even good at painting (see the horrible designs on their korean nodongs) :)

Agreed, even the mighty F22 Raptor prototype was lost due to error in fly by wire technology in USA. No LCA was prototype was ever lost in INDIA.
I think it is a great attempt to start, even if the end product may not be a world beater. This shows even if our scientist are underpaid they are not under talented :-)

Tejas is par with the best in the world...maybe a shade less but quite good. It may have its cost overruns....but once we hav the experience...second jet is just a few experiments away..
It has passed very very critical tests in Russia real flight and altitude for 45-50 minute duration done abroad a russian IL50(70) aircraft
2.It has 70-75 KN thrust power all by indian efforts ,but IAF - INDIAN AIR FORCE needs 90-95 KN so we are taking SNECMA help to fine tune and get ito clock 90-95 KN thrust also efforts are on to reduce engine weight a bit
3.Once we have done that ,in Russia itself they will test 50-60 more tests to make sure all parameters
4.then LCA - TEJAS next batch will be fitted with KAVERI engines and further test trails will be conducted until induction into IAF

For all the people out there
1.indians who have colonial hangover Ok let me define In technology indians cannot make only west can make was a myth until now why ???? Because most talent left india for opportunities while india languished with 2-3 percent growth rate
wrong policies by political leaders and corruption hurt a lot
Now too corruption hurts ,but because of Vibrant private sector and change in attitudes we are now realising our potential slowly but gradually
A lot more can be done if all work as a TEAM to build an India so that atleast our young need not go elsewhere and be victims of prejuidice etc
We can all stay back and make indians live better ,conquer poverty and make sure everyone has Rota Kapda Makaan or Garabi Hatao If we do that on that day we will see all indians smile and that day we have achieved our goal ,we need not become super power to achieve these goals

I agree with u... This vital contribution from true citizen makes country great, although that mr. Patel never got credit or asked for anything.unlike x,y,z's chamchaa shamelesly ask for awards on behalf of 'em.I was impressed that without much facility he developed that critical switch better than russian who have trillion $ war industry running there since last 70 years. I salute U Mr Patel and many like him hidden behind unsung true heroes.
