China is already a superpower and 2nd largest Economy in the world.China army is capable to destroy any spy satellites in sky, china has fastest train in the world. India is a very small fry in front of him.If India don't grow in future with more then 10 percent GDP mor then China then very soon all Asia and India will become in control of china and his ally pakistan.
Most powerful country in the world USA is also under 2 trillion debt of China.

If India doesnot control population nothing will improve. China did it first and then it started economic revolution. Thats why it's reaping the results today. It sounds inhuman. But humanly whats good happening in my bharat?

We need to educate lower middle class people about the importance of population control, and family planning, some of the section of the society still thinks that using condom is haram in their relegion and family planning is banned in their relegion they want to grow in number doesnt matter the future fate about their children.

Security, in terms of preventing food and water shortages (including artificial ones) and managing hostile environmental factors arising from our hellish neighbourhood should also be considered.
Moreover, an equation that constantly boggles my mind is the Amount of Black Money in the system divided by our population. The result, should be added to our PCI to find out how much each of us is losing. What do you say friends?

People have been watching news and reading newspaper, for last so many years there has been no policy for common man.
Like building roads

Population
Law and Order
Corruption
It is clear that govt is sleeping and looting public money.

Simple because 8 or 9 percent growth has failed to do anything about the poverty and misery in India!

This so called phenomenal growth has only really benefited the rich and influential!

Therefore India needs to be afraid of this burden of poverty which will ultimately drag India down and drown it!!

Corruption is the main hindrance to the development of India....prices are sky-rocketing and how much ever one may earn, it is less to satisfy the greed of our corrupt politicians and system.Indian economy is definitely going strong and we need a strong leader to lead this progress...MMS is a very weak PM who cannot not even control his cabinet of Ministers....India certainly deserves a strong government and strong, dynamic leadership....and not like the useless shameless MMS who does nothing but only gives excuses!!!

MMS n MADAM
by ganga shipping on Jan 22, 2011 12:02 PM

Sometimes i really wonder how & why this MMS is called an economist of repute. It seems he copied and passed his exams and climbed the ladder by sheer manipulation and chamchagiri the way he is doing now as THE PM of India

Good analysis to have been made by the author who needs to be commended for projection of his views very correctly. It is true that what we see, what we perceive as development is not the real development but a deceptive show off or a blanket of "feel good"as the writer has correctly put.It appears that we are mistaking swelling for fat & suffering from a sense of illusive exhilaration seeing the materialism growing in all walks of our lives. As long as our values continue to tilt towards brink as has been happenning right now, there is no meaning in our so called development;we are living under a delusion & by the time we realise what is most needed for us, I fear,it may be out of our hands.Abstract qualities of morality, honesty, sincerity, truthfulness should take precedence over the mad run after materialism & the concomitant temporary pleasures they bring. With so much of acclaimed progress or development what ever we call it as,the present man is peace less & unable to know what he really wants for his true happiness. Our elders, certainly, were happier than us despite absence of all these modern gadgets. They were very much advanced in their positive thought process & truthfulness. They were healthier than us though they did not have these high tech hospitals. And it is here we fail miserably.Improvement of value system is the only solution for this.

Absolutely right. However our politicians, industralist, bureocrates, administratators, economist are not worried. They have huge amount of money to survive in India and abroad."AAM ADAMI" will suffer. But who is this "AAM ADAMI ? Who knows him? Who cares for him.Pre Britis period, during Brutish period, he is the sufferer. He will continue to suffer. Don't worry. Let him blame his luck and GOD both. Both are invisible. So neither Luck nor GOD have to worry.Let us enjoy!

Indians are capable of achieving anything
by kumar kn on Jan 22, 2011 10:11 AM

The progress India has made is because of the work being done in the private sector, the small business/industry,the workers and farmers. We could have done even better if we had a responsive pro active nationalist minded Govt like in China.Democracy is good but a hungry man wants bread. The psudo secular media unnecessarily gives credit of MMS,when it was the World Bank and IMF which forced India to go for Reforms because we were nearly bankrupt. If only the entreprenural spirit of Indians is unleashed,we can compete with China easily.Indians are hardworking and intellegent people but are ruled by uninspiring, corrupt, unintellegent and idiotic leaders.
