LOL!
by Bob Marley on Jan 26, 2011 09:25 PM  | Hide replies

A small thief (general population) telling a bigger thief (politicians/govt servants) not to steal.

Netas are the true reflection of society specially in a democracy.

Voting rules
by Bada Bhai on Jan 26, 2011 09:21 PM  | Hide replies

I do not know if many of us are aware that in a ballot paper containing names and symbols of candidates contesting elections, a column must be mandatorily entered..none found suitable..

Our politicians have deliberately kept this out of the ballot paper, otherwise the election commission will have to declare that none of them can contest again for the same election/post

An open letter to our leaders on corruption
by ANAND TEERTHA on Jan 26, 2011 09:20 PM  | Hide replies

An open letter to our leaders on corruption, Corruption in India is as OLD as Congress party.

There is no point in stating that we have honest PM and a helping hand must be extended to him.He appears sa an honest but he is too corrupt to the core and building finance empires to make one amongst the dynasty as PM sooner than later.

Our Rot&Corruption&Decay started more than 6 decades ago!How many hindus&patriots including the Bengali public&voters of our states have seen the greatest ever film ever,Aaashani Sanket or Distant Thunder, made by great Satyajit Ray,relating to the Bengal Famine!During the second world war, the british looters&colonizers packed &sent millions of tonnes of food stuffs to England starving millions of hindus to death& the great film by Satyajitji foucsses on this himalayan tragedy or holocaust! What is more the great non-violent saint or great freedom fighter mahatma ganhdee kept quiet all along when millions of hindus were being starved to death&it was this very same mahatma ganchee who asked all hindus& indians to support england in world war&this resulted in Deaths of thousands& thousands of hindus, sikhs&buddhists in World war too. After seeing the great film& after seeing india's pitiable state now as a slavish nation begging for help from western&british looters preventing indian slaves even to visit the western countries& preventing them even from entering UK&Europe&USA,etc all Hindus will be forced now to weep now&for decades together too, is it not???Now comes news from Pulitzer aawar winning author that our mahatma was a homosexual&his letters

Incorrect balance in approach to corruption
by Animesh Priyadarshi on Jan 26, 2011 09:14 PM

We need to have a balance of preventive policies and time-bound corrective/punitive procudures to tackle corruption. At present the government is content in adding to the already burgeoning levels of legislation in the hope of building a system that prevents corruption - which is at best an attainable dream. what we also need is quick resolution of corruption cases and exemplary punishment of the guilty. There is simply not enough deterrent and our judiciary is painfully slow. The question is how can we make the judiciary more accountable to the people?

An open letter toour leaders
by r s on Jan 25, 2011 08:40 PM

I shall only add that this open letter is a balanced and well thought one.As it has come from the pillars of Indian industry,it is very difficult to tell that something more was expected. It is well known that in India corruption is a low risk and high profit business.unless you reverse this trend,no effort is going to be effective in curbing it.One suggestion had also come from one ex CVC.If there is any case of corruption, first confiscate the property or properties against which corruption case is being investigated and release it only if the person or persons is/are proved innocent.punishment to guilty should be as hard as in case of robbery and attempt to murder.Unless such or other laws are made and fast track court decision is taken,in my opinion, corruption can not be curbed. No doubt politicians are corrupt ,but babus are not less corrupt.Again ,in my opinion, if bureaucrats are honest,it will be rather impossible for a politician to be corrupt.Otherwise also you can not expect honesty from today's politicians, but raw hand as they are they can not dare to be corrupt unless supported by experienced bureaucrats.Public is also to be blamed to some extent In re electing tainted politicians.

Writing letters never solved anything
by Loknath Rao on Jan 24, 2011 05:48 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Group of concerned people,

The corruption in this country is "sponsored", "promoted" and "institutionalized" by the lords and protagonists of free India starting with incompetent jawaharlal, the emblem of corruption indira and now a licesee of corruption madam antonia maino. Its the duty of the congress "workers" like manmohans and singhvis and kalmadis and dikishits to protect their mademoiselle antonia. Till the time you have people with fake passports, fake names and fake education at the helm of affairs, you are kidding yourself by writing such letters. If you do want to make a change with all the money you have,. You need to provoke them, charge them and show their true colours to the public.

It is foolish to think that any party or leader will reduce corruption. Every Indian is corrupt. If we want corruption to come down we have to take a fresh look at our culture and religion and stop thinking that we can get away with bad behavior by bribing GOD!

The political system in the country is rotten by any standards and all the political parties are equally responsible for this state of degradation. Why not think above politics and form an opinion base that nurtures values and exposes the corrupt ones. Perhaps the need of the hour is a partyless system where people are elected on the basis of their calibre and clean image. Think it over...

Stop voting for Congress. Vote for CPI, vote for Mayawati, vote for BJP, vote for any damn party, but never ever vote for Congress. Remove Congress from power and corruption will end.
