War - Economy
by Chaya Pandyan on Apr 13, 2011 11:29 AM

I read in the newspaper about
"15 Crore project was incresed to 160 crore and given to chinse Co. (In CWG). Chinese Co. gave it to other Co. in 80 crore. So they got 80 crore for doing nothing. No country gives their money easily to other country so easily. I was in Export and I know it, How hard to get the Job and there after money! These Baste.... loot Indian money so easily, B'coz they have never gone through hardship. Easy Tax money available to Govt. No one to shout for their bad practise.

Why should we worry of Pak & China of war, where they can easily finish us economically under the great economist Leardership of MMS.

Congi. Mantra - Oppose indegeniou product and support foreign product / Projects. where money can be made!
So Rahulbaba wants US N-Power plants in India.

Corruption - Way of Life
by Zarina Siddique on Apr 07, 2011 04:17 PM  | Hide replies

Anna Hazare on fast unto death!! fighting against corruption!! What will happen? A committee will be formed to look into the demands and then phut....May be I am too pessimistic but i find that corruption has become a way of life in India. People do not hesitate cheating at the smallest apportunity. It is like a cancerous growth in ones body, which can not be cured even if you remove the affected body part. Most of the time it comes back and does not leave the person till death. You cannot remove corruption by removing corrupt politician, bureaucrates, big business houses;another will take its place. What is needed is changing the mind set of every body, creating awareness that taking bribe is bad, but giving is worst. If we start from this level, we might some day be able to fight corruption from high places as well. Good luck to you Mr. Hazare, I am with you.
Zarina

Educated people of India must demand a RULE for "LIFE TERM JAIL / HANG TILL DEATH" for Corrupted Ministers / Prime Minister / Govt. officials. Otherwise no meaning of Freedom.

Just Shallow Words NOT enough,NEED Radical ElectionChanges!
by Xin Xin on Apr 05, 2011 08:04 PM  | Hide replies

Just Shallow Words NOT enough,We NEED Radical Electoral &Voting System Changes NOW!First and Foremost Election commission MUST make sure that electronic voting machines are NOT rigged like last lok sabha elections and must confirm validity of results by doing simultanous ballot paper voting to prevent possibility of rigging of EVM machines! Only crooks and looters have made our democracy a TOTAL FARCE and looters and dacoits rule 90 crore poor majority hindus making them beggars and third class citizens. The real culprits for Making this Total Farce of a Democracy are those who drafted the constitution and drafted the election laws and even now it is not late! If the consitution makers had put the condition that only those with minimum educational qualification of an intermediate degree are allowed to vote and that voting is made compulsory for all adults and punishable with jail and huge fine for those not voting without adequate reason, india would have been a super power rivalling USA and Europe by now and the crooked nheru dynasty and looters would not have looted trillions of dollars and made 85 crore hindus beggars and third class citizens in the country and there would not have been 500 million hindus without one full meal as is the case now.It is time all political parties and all intellectuals and patriots come together and make electoral reforms and save the country even now from total disaster soon

Like developed countries, term of parliament and assembly must be three years only and not cnadidate should be allowed to compete for more than 2 terms in assmbly and lok sabha and panhcyat and muncipality elections too. Since polticians and political parties are the greatest beneficiaries of our present electoral and voting system an since media and intellectuals are acting as cheer leaders of crooked rulers and looters, there is no light at the end of the tunnel and our banana republic becoming a super banana republic is a real possibility now unless the majority hindus wake up ans start a total revoilution to reform the rotten electoral and voting system, can we see a miracle happening, let us hope so!

Siddhartha Bandyopadhyay
Production of Space.
by Siddhartha Bandyopadhyay on Feb 16, 2011 12:05 AM

Most of the communities in India (such as Bengali), are succumbed in 'Culture of Poverty'(a theory introduced by an American anthropologist Oscar Lewis), irrespective of class or economic strata, lives in pavement or apartment. Nobody is at all ashamed of the deep-rooted corruption, decaying general quality of life, worst Politico-administrative system, weak mother language, continuous absorption of common space (mental as well as physical, both). We are becoming fathers & mothers only by self-procreation, mindlessly & blindfold. Simply depriving their(the children) fundamental rights of a decent, caring society, fearless & dignified living. Do not ever look for any other positive alternative behaviour (values) to perform human way of parenthood, i.e. deliberately co-parenting of those children those are born out of ignorance, real poverty. All of us are being driven only by the very animal instinct. If the Bengali people ever be able to bring that genuine freedom (from vicious cycle of 'poverty') in their own life/attitude, involve themselves in 'Production of Space’(Henri Lefebvre), at least initiate a movement by heart, decent & dedicated Politics will definitely come up.

Vaclav Havel, the former Czech president
by piri on Jan 26, 2011 10:53 PM  | Hide replies

and winner of the Nobel literature prize, had this to say about corruption and tolerance to corruption :

"No nation, whether empires and kingdoms big and small of the past or nation states and republics of more recent times, has withstood the abrasive effects of corruption for too long. The Roman empire, spectacular in glorious might and deeds, withered away fast enough once its rulers began resting on the labours of the slaves it captured and its senators and high officials started competing with one another in displaying ill garnered pomp before the plebians. The Hapsburgs, lords of half of Europe in their time, crumbled inwards under the weight of its greedy lords. The Caliphate, as were the Ottomans, was severe on anything that challenged Islam, but ignored the avarice and intrigue of its nobles, which led to the dismemberment of the great edifices they built. The empires of the Orient - the Mings, the Manchus and such others - though longer lasting than their western counterparts due to their being more insular empires, eventually had to suffer dissolution through the actions of corrupt and powerful nobles and the rich gentry. Modern Yugoslavia disappeared before our eyes entirely due to the extent of rot the Serbians brought upon it with their self serving ways. And African states repeatedly and constantly demonstrate to us how and why greed and unscrupulousness in public life - more so when nourished by ignorant or enfeebled subjects - cause regimes and

nations to rise and fall with unfailing regularity in the course of history. The enemy without was never as much the cause for their fall as the true enemy within - namely corruption. The two always acted in harmony to bring down empires, kingdoms and republics."

Mr. Havel did not mention Indian empires or kingdoms. Perhaps India was as invisible to him as it generally has been to much of the outside world through the modern era.

But if he had remembered India, the fact that most of the Indian empires and kingdoms of the past fell precisely due to the same reason he attributes for the fall of other empires would certainly have not escaped him !!

And, if he had been more blunt with his words, he might have ventured to mention that today's states such as India and numerous other 'lesser' countries (where corruption is tolerated in ever increasing proportions) have condemned themselves to doom and dismemberment !!
